Wire tuck question / problem

FCM need your help again =)

i did a full wire tuck on my car. fuse box is inside. battery also. all the good stuff.

When we tried cranking it, there was a clicking sound, but no cranking. Found out that the starter relay was not plugged in (the one on the right side of the A/C vent). My buddies and I tried bench starting the starter, and it caused the cluster to smoke.

So far we found all good fuses, but a burnt cluster, burnt main fuel relay, and burnt blinker (timed) relay.

I was told the fuse box might not be grounded correctly, its under my dash on the passenger side. Any advice on this?

P.S. before we tried cranking, everything worked on Ignition I, headlights, turn signals, horn, fuel pump was clicking, etc. After we cranked it (without the starter relay plugged in) everything besides the headlights stopped working on Ignition I.

thnx in advanced fcm =)

You have either a short or you are passing more current through the cluster, PGM-FI Main Relay and flasher relay then they can handle.

Let’s hope the fues box is not grounded.

How do you have the relocated batt. wired, where is it grounder, [to what and how]?

How is the engine grounded to the cars chassis?

How is the batt. pos.(+) cable connected to the relocated fuse box, alt. and starter motor?

What gauge are all the main power and ground cables?

When you did the tuck did you make sure you re-grounded any engine or dash harness grounds that you disconnected to do the tuck?

Did you have a schematic, tag/number grounds and plugs or just wing it? 94

did you get it running?
