Quick question for you sound guru’s. How did you run your wiring of the front speakers if you don’t want your deck to power them? Meaning, is there like a hole or something I can run the door speaker wire out of if I decide to let an amp power them? Hope the question is clear and replies are appreciated!
I’ll take the bit on this one. Your asking how to run new speaker wire thru the doors if you decide to run them off an amp? Well you can either run it thru the existing door loom or you can drill new holes and creat a new one. I prefer to use the first choice. Your gonna need to pull the door panels off and pull off the cover sheet under neath to get to the wire loom. The easiest way i found to do this is to open the door as wide as it can go to staighten out the loom, then attach your new wire to a straightened coat hanger via duct tape and put a lil bit of oil to the top and try to fish it thru. It might take you awhile to do it if its your first time but you’ll eventually get it. After you get it thru just pull the rest of it thru and run it down to your amp. Also by looking at your user name I can assume you have a GS? If so then you have alot more wires in the loom then i did so it might make it a little bit more difficult but not impossible.
Ouch, are you saying that since it’s a GS that I the “wire loom” has more wires than other integras? Meaning, from the door, there are many wires, I would assume wires for the window and the power door locks. I don’t foresee any others…Hmmm…thank you for your reply! It helped me a lot actually!
Well actually i had a 90ls and it didnt come with power windows or door locks. only wires that where in there were for the rear views and stock speaker wires. I actually should have said that cars with power locks and windows would would add to that amount of wires. So in your ride you would have wires for the power windows, locks, speaker wires, and power rear views.
