ok guys so heres what i got goin on, im a total noob when it comes to wiring anything… i’ve had my projector halos for a lil while and been to lazy to wire them cause i really honestly dont know how, can someone help me out here, im pretty sure i have the necessary materials to do this
I do not see any solder or solder gun, or any kind of connector, also can you show a pics of the halos, of any wires or terminals on them. :stare: 94
I have a set of projectors with halos installed for a while now, what I did was get wire taps and tap the halo wires into the running light wires. If you have any question, let me know.
well i dont know where to ground any of the wires or where to tap into the power or where in the firewall to feed the wires to so i can have a switch
I just tapped mine to the pos(+) and neg(-) wires that power the front running lights so I didn’t have to worry about finding a hole in the firewall for the wires, but I know there is a big rubber seal on the passenger side that can be removed to allow wires to run through, and then put back in to cover the large whole, this is located to the left of the fuel filter.
A quick way, if you don’t mind back tracking the wires would be to tap the neg halo wires to the neg running wires, then run a pos wire to the front where your switch is, and then run a seperate wire back to the pos running light wire. There may be a better way to supply power that would require less wire, but this would be what I would do just because it’s quick and easy and saves the hunting for another wire. Hope this helps.
BUMP! haha… the 2 years old thread lives again!!!
did pple end up doing this?
-wouldnt it be safer to put a switch between the ‘ground/neg’ wire rather than the ‘positive’ wires?
- what type of wires should be used? like what size n ratings etc…?
- can you use the same wire as when rewiring the fogs so they come on indepenent of the high/low beams?
i have a '93 RHD USDM DA9 … we do not have a separate switch for fogs… they are turned on with the highbeams when we click (in) the indicator switch…
i am getting them ebay halos/projectors and would like each light to come on separately…
thanks in advance…
