i don’t know what is happening but sometimes when i try to start my car, i put the key in the ignition, turn and nothing happens. everything else comes on though, like the radio and clock, and ac. but when i turn the key to try to start the car, it doesn’t even crank. however if i keep trying over and over it eventually starts right. up. sometimes it only takes one try, sometimes it takes 10. is this a sign of loose wiring somewhere? or does it mean something much worse?
I had that problem with my car a few years ago. Check the wires on the starter. There is one wire that plugs in and has a rubber dust cover. make sure that it is fully inserted and making good contact. The wire terminal on mine had come loose from the starter and was starting only when the wire was close enough for the power to arc from the wire terminal to the starter.
I bent the sides of the termnal a little to make sure that it did not come loose and reinstalled it. I have not had a problem since and it has been over 3 years.
