i have 290k on my stock 93 b18a1 and did a compression test everything turned out good…it was 130/125/130/125…would racing cause problems when it has 290k miles…
Never. At that mileage it can take anything. Put in a turbo and it will still take numerous beatings and last you another 100k. That is if you do the regular maintenance. (JK)
Those numbers are lower than ideal but since they are all 10% of eachother its still a good motor yet. Yes racing will cause problems seeing it already has 290k miles on already worn out stock internals…

No that wont help prolong its life. It’d be wiser to swap in a different motor with less mileage than going LS/VTEC.
Turbo only cuts motor life in half when you don’t turbo properly.

im sorry to say but minimum spec for compression on an A1 is 134. suppose to be 134-184 thats from Acura. time for a rebuild or new motor
fuk it let it ride!!! LOL! Spray it till she goes then build for what you want to do. Then at least you know you beat it till the end. I can’t afford turbo or lsv so i just spray till it goes and get junkyard motors. Granted i could have got a nice lsv or turbo by now all the money i spend over that time. hahahahaha

with 290k miles the motor can just take so much of a beater till something goes wrong …piston rings , spin a bearing etc.
