Hey guys got a question. I have a chance to pick up a black 93 gsr. Has about 225,000km on it. Can have it for $1500.00. Pretty much everything works. Question is I’m more interested in it for parts for my 93 gs. Is it sacralege to part it out? Or should I spen the money to fix her all up? The issue is I just painted the gs and I dont think that I can keep to of them around the house.
Don’t even think of parting it. Your GS will never be worth as much as the GSR. Fix it up and sell it or sell the GS
Well that is what I’m thinking but I have a ton in the motor and paint in the gs. I need just the seats and a few things. I think I might just turn it into a daily driver the motor in the gsr is not an original. The owner actuall paid me to build a new motor for it. The 1.7 block was not worth keeping and is long gone.
Well what ever you think is best,go for it. You can sell the shell or just look for a motor on line and fix it up.
Yeah i dunno if I can talk the wife into keeping it I will. I mean it is a gsr. I do have one question were they only canadian imports the gsrs I mean?

Well this one has manual belts and has Daytime Runing Lights. The more I think about it I might just make it my daily driver while I finish the gs. I mean the gs will be a blast. Last time out we were at 300whp and now hopefully more. But you are right the gsr would be a shame to mess with it.
Um no, GSRs were available in the U.S. too. US was offerred red, white, and aztec green GSRs but not black. Black was only available in Canada. Which is why it is really rare to see a Black GSR in the U.S.
Hmmm did not know that one. So 1500 is a great price and I should just keep her in good shape and drive her? There is like no rust in the car. She needs a new paint job. Which that is what aggrevates me I just painted the gs. I woulda pulled the motor from the gs and put it in the gsr.

Where is this Candian GSR? I will buy it. That’ll make it 2 GSRs for me.
I will have it here at my house next week. Im still torn about it right now. If I had the 1.7 id be all over keeping it. Well see when I get it home and have time to go over the car with a fine tooth comb.

Your making this wayy harder then it should be… its easy… sell this gs and buy the gsr… with the extra cash from the gs fix the gsr up… a black gsr stock is cooler then a 300 HP gs anyday

I know I Know it is never easy to dump a girl for another. Specially when youve been with the one for so long. If I keep the GSR it will set my project back like 2 years. Plus I have to do all the body work again. If I can swing it ill keep both.
Ok pulled the gsr in the garage tonight. Was wanting to dig into the history farther. Do we have good info on the Last digits on the vin as the serial/sequence number being the actual production number?
Searched the web. And from what I can find the gsr was only made 92-93 and that there were approx 2,200 made. Am I correct in my findings?
