please answer the wuestion before flaming!! lol> this is my first noob moment on here so be gentle> lol>
anywho the part circled in the picture> when i was adjusting my throttle cable i pulled the veccum line off this pice and my car magically idled like it should? did when i got the car>>> i was thinking maybe it is clogged? but idk wtf it is so i didnt chance it> just tightened the throttle cable slightly so my car wouldnt rattle me to death when im at a red light> ( i know it messes with the ecu or whatever) anyway just wondering what this part is and what it does and how cheap it is to replace i would really like my idle to be normal again without tampering with the throttle cable
yea thats definelty it. bt when i remove the vaccum line from the top of it the car idle’d like it should. maybe time for a new FPR? idk. i know theres been a few people saying they have the same problem with a low idle. maybe the fpr’s getting weak is all?
i’m not exactly sure how the FPR works, but i think it relieves pressure from the fuel line with a specific vacuum…any ideas? i’m just gessing. It could be stuck open, so pressure is lost…but then you should check for vacuum leaks if you said it returned to normal when you unplugged it. Check your solenoid.
i check for vac leaks with starter fluid before i did any of this. and nothing happened. so im guseeing im good. and if u plug the line it vaccum is STRONG. lol. kinda pinched a little. just a thought cause apparently low idle is common in these cars.
after reading a little bit on it, at idle the vacuum should be high, so vacuum leak or related is null. When the vacuum is high the FPR opens and lowers pressure.
