my buddy has had them for 2 years so i say go for it i bought mine off of ebay haven’t failed me yet.
yea i bought them to. ive had them for about 3 weeks and one the ballast already went out and the other ballast is starting to make a clicking sound and the bulb is flickering…
sorry about that man.
i’ve had my VVME ebay kit going strong for over 1.5 years. knock on wood
Just curious, how do you guys treat your HIDs? there are things you shouldn’t do with them…

how do we treat them? i dont understand…
basically when you turn them on, you must leave them on for at least 5 minutes before shutting them down.
Same goes for turning them back on after turning them off, you must wait 5 minutes after turning them off before turning them back on. I’ve followed this rule to pretty well and have yet to see my bulbs flicker.
i’ve seen way too many youtube videos of people just flicking them on and off rapidly cause i guess they like how they color shift as they warm up. That shiz is hell to the ballasts and bulbs.
i’m no expert, but there are salts that vaporize when a current is passed through the filament. It takes time for those salts to return to their original form when the bulb isn’t lit…or something like that.
i should also mention i’m using a battery relay in conjunction with my HIDs. my HIDs are powered by my battery directly and not through the headlight harness.
Do they make them in H4H?
I believe Techone makes the HID’s in H4H… the ebay ones I’ve seen are H4 the last time I’ve checked a year ago…
I just installed the Xentec H3 slims in the 3000K in my one pieces so I’ll see how they last. Its a very deep yellow with the yellow housing and yellow bulb, I like it. I was concerned with the longer filament touching the housing, its hard to tell but they seem alright. You have to rig the H3s to fit with the way the HID bulb backing isn’t like a stock one and of course skip the outer wiring.
I did get some H4Hs on ebay at the same time from another place. One of the bulbs was DOA and both harnesses were pinned backwards, but I noticed right away. At least it was a true H4H and fit perfect. Right now I’m trying to get them to send me another bulb under warranty. They were $89 dollars shipped, and even though they say they’re in the US it comes from China…but it was there in 4 days so I was impressed. There’s another brand on ebay going for $129 but I doubt they’re any better quality, I could be wrong. The ebay store is Ultravision HD, and the seller is mototekc. The item number was 150295952472. The brand on the box was some Hellekeig or something, claiming to be german (yeah right). I’ll let you know if they send me a free bulb or not.
I burnt out both Xentec ballasts after 4 months of use. Both died at different times in the same month. I got some phillps ballasts now, and they work great with the xentec bulbs. Xentec “ballasts” = :fingban:
Haha same thing happened to my uncle’s ride. I bought a set of Xentecs for him and after 3 days… the driver side ballast burnt out…
thats weird…
it was my driver side ballast that went out too…
maybe its a fad
i got mine from china for 45, it has high beam and low beam, powered by oneside of the old headlight plug and battery, it has 2 lil fuses and 3 of those black electronic boxes for safety

got my h4h from the same guy except I didn’t have a doa they been going over a year strong with no flickering or anything
thats a battery relay. the bulbs are not so much powered by the headlight harness…the relay is just switched on with the headlight harness. All the power draw comes from the battery which is a better setup than the typical HID kit. drawing from the battery is safer and is more reliable.
well good news on the DOA H4H, they made me explain to them 3 times how I was sure the bulb was bad, and take a picture of the bulb, but they are sending me a new bulb under warranty. I almost thought I’d have to mail them the dead one but thankfully they didn’t.
YEAH, thats what i thought, other hid kits are just plug in. i couldnt install mine, so i took it to my friend’s dealer ship, he had his mechanice installed it, took about 40 mins to finish it. it was way more complicated than other hid kit.
