Xsi swap going to the track finally.

Yippy, i’m going to the track Friday. I’m gonna run my car. I want to get as close to 2.1 in the 60 foot as possible. I plan on removing some interior pieces such as the passenger seats. My car is a 91 rs with an Xsi swap, S1 tranny, 8lbs. aluminum flywheel, Comp. Clutch Stage “twoosie,” free’d up OEM air intake “system,” gutted catalytic converter, absolutely no stereo related parts or spare tire equipment, and a damned decent driver.

It’s gonna be cold down here in Louisiana this Friday, and the racetrack is at sea level. My 1/4 mile goal is 15.3, and I would be more than pleased to see this et. However, I think that there is a possibility for more, but it’s best to think realistically.

What do ya’ll think?

The only thing that may hurt you is the gutted cat. what kind of tires will you be running?

do a mod like this for your intake, you’ll get the benefits of a cold-air intake, WITHOUT the risk of hydro-lock:

should be a pretty worthwhile mod, better airflow into your intake without sacrificing that OEM look. probably won’t really make you any faster in the quarter, but that vtec engagement would sound a little better. won’t be terribly loud either.

a sound clip of this mod on a dc2 LS motor, so on a vtec motor, i’m sure it will sound a little different, at least during vtec range:

I plan on running on street tires. I was gonna get the BF Goody’s Drag Radial tire, but I ran out of time, and Jegs can’t get it to me before friday evening.

Like I said, i’m gonna try and get as close to a 2.1 60 foot time, and a 15.3 quarter would satisfy me. I originally planned to do this on a 50 wet shot of nitrous, but I decided to run my car NA, and if it does bad, then I will have to take it like a man.

I’m gonna remove some stuff from my car, which should get it maybe 100lbs. lighter. These parts include all of the passenger seats, etc.

Any thoughts?

P.S.- Thanks for replying!

post time slips after you run.

What do you guys think i’ll run? You know, just something to look forward to for laughs. LOL

I’ll definitely post the slips, or just the numbers since I don’t have a scanner.

Have u been to a track before? If so then maybe a 15.5. If you haven’t been then I say upper 15’s. Gl though and I hope everything goes good.

Thanks! I should have taken care of ordering tires earlier. I probably won’t be able to launch very hard. Oh well, I guess we’ll see what happens.

Is that a 15.5 with or without 75 to 100 less pounds?

I’d say with cause your gonna be hurting on traction. Best way to see is to find out. Who knows you could run a low 15. Just have to run it and see.
