i have a 90 ls s1 trans and a 91 civic (b16) y1 trans. which would you run with a b20/vtec? the car is used mostly on the drag course so acceleration is important. any b20/vtec ppl have a setup they like best? or is there a better trans out there like the 93 gsr trans?
This is a no brainer go with the short geared trany.
isnt the s1 a short geared trans to the ys1. i know the ys1 is long geared and the y1 is short, but the s1 has a shorter first gear than the y1…so what comes ahead in the end? change the first gear and keep the remaining gears?
ys1 from 92-93 gsr is the best. i think gear are shorter than b16 trannys

THIS IS THE SITE TO LOOK AT EVERYONE! FOUND MY ANSWER FINALLY! MAN THERE IS A HUGE DIFF BETWEEN JDM AND USDM. SO BASICALLY ITS THE B17 USDM TRANS OR JUST MAKE DO. Y1 FOR ME, CHEAPER AND NOT THE WORST.
