Z10 traction bar

I got my bar today. I won’t be installing it until the weekend, but it looks great. Thanks for the hookup xenocron.

One thing I noticed tho, is that my bar is slightly different than the one posted on Z10’s website and on xenocron’s thread. It doesn’t have the center reinforcement between the two main parallel bars. Is that normal? I wonder why they would leave that reinforcement piece out of the production bar since it looks like that would be a good spot for some extra bracing. Looks like smokeintegra’s bar is the same as mine.

The guy that owns Z10 does some sort of aerospace shit…I guess Z10 is just his hobby :frowning:

As far as the difference, I have one of the early bars and mine doesnt have the brace either…I am not sure why they changed the design, but it isnt something structurally critical so you should be good

Still waiting on more info from Avid…

I’ve had the Z10 bar installed for about a week and just thought I’d give you guys an update.

smokeintegra did a pretty thorough review and most of my thoughts on this bar are pretty much inline with his. The install went smoothly but did require removal of both axles and dropping the front forks as smokeintegra stated. It took me two days to install it, but only because I did my ABS removal at the same time. Speaking of ABS, this bar has no provisions for mounting the ABS accumulator like the stock crossmember did, so I would not recommend this bar for those with ABS.

The way the new radius rods mount to the lower control arm scared me at first because there’s only 1/4" clearance to the forks and 1/2" to the axle. I was afraid it might rub, but after several days of driving, I didn’t notice any rubbing or binding.

The bar seemed to tighten up the front suspension, especially during launches. Cornering also seemed tighter and more responsive.

Another thing I like about this bar is that it allows for radius rod adjustments. If your car’s front tires are not even due to running into curbs and such, you can even them out again. You can also fine-tune your caster.

One con to having this bar is that you lose the front reinforced jacking point, but you gain a lot more (weight savings, tighter front end, more clearance for headers/turbo, etc).

Overall I give these bars

pics of front end with bar installed to see ground clearance?

Ground clearance is about the same if not better than stock since you remove the tow hooks, which are normally the first to scrape.

Nice job on the install!

Wish I could get Z10 to be more responsive!

Nice pic!!!

im looking into buying one of theese z10 traction bars does anyone have any complaints? is it still holding up would you recomend another company or for a daily driver

Mine is still holding up. not a complaint, it’s very light and strong. I dont’ see why it would affect you if you daily drive on this. I havent had any problems daily driving. it gets 2 thumbs up for me.

thanks alot,im going to order from the z10 site hopefully in the next few weeks, love income tax haha

Pito, I am not trying to knock Z10, but I am a wholesaler and I cant get them to ship a unit right now or return phone calls so be cautious.

I also have the AVID traction bars in the sponsors section now since I couldnt get Z10 to be responsive enough. These will be lower cost than the Z10 units as well…

x2 :up::up:
IMO, the twin-bar design is the most efficient setup in terms of weight, strength, and ground clearance.

tried to fix this the best I could without altering the information in my post because of the newpicture attatchment feature and my pics were no longer being supported

i like how it tucks. Not quite as high as the ESP bar but it’s way better than full rice.
