hey guys just wondering what anybody with a stock b16( or if modded) in their teggy has their quarter mile times… sorry if this is a repost but i searched and cant find any recent threads on this … thanks
I know some guy a while back who had a b16 with i/h/e and full interior…ran a 17+. I could only laugh cause I warned him not to put a b16 in our car.

driver does play a big part in it…
ok i ran a 15.5 with a stage 2 clutch and regular street tires i was just wondering if anybody else (with a b16) ran their car… and as for that guy whoran 17 sorry to say but he must really suck and why wouldnt someone want to put a b16 in their car???
hahah because stock for stock it isnt that much better then an ls in a teg.
I know someone here that has a 92 teg w/just an intake that ran 15.5 (sucka306).
ok, heres my answer (and I own a teg with a b16 in it)
LS- 16.3 on 15 inch tires with like 50% tread and no spare tire
b16- 16.3 on 14 inch tires that were dry-rotted as hell and no spare tire, however, I experienced bad tire spin, so I do think the b16 is faster, you will notice the lack of torque, but from say a 20 mph run I think you would walk on an LS (stock), but he may get you off the line…its a price you pay for vtec…
ouch 16.3 with a b16… you figure you pay for a “faster” motor and it would be faster with the same driver. sheesh. it really does depend on driver i guess.
No “REAL” track tiems yet, but stock LS ran 16.4, slightly modded b16, ran 15.2. That’s with my GTECH. haha. It’s the newer gen. Not the best for accuracy but good for comparison. now with my B16 I’m supposedly running high 13’s, low 14’s which is true. heh
humm? I ran 16.3 on my second run, I couldn’t get any more runs do to closing time. But I was told I should hit in the 15’s but I really doubt it. I’m shifting at 8k. (not sure why I can go past 8k bought as is) Pretty much stock with just and intake, lowered and sorry tires, lol
what engine? b16 or b18? if it’s the b18. shfiting at 8 grand is doing more bad then good. If b16, b16’s reev limti is higher then 8000.
I have a b16a JDM1st gen and my stock rpm gauge can go hit the 8k and go a little then bam…bam… So i’m guessing somwhere like 8200k or so I’m in need of a 5’’ Tach
yeah redline is like 81XX or 82XX I fergot.
umm i know its off topic but what does on recommend shifting at? I’m reving to 3k with clutch down and in first and when its green I let go of the clutch and whooo tires still spining like whoa!! I’m still clueless why my homie hatch has a b16a3 US and its rev is at 7500?? I just search and the b16a redline is 8200k :read:
he most likely has an automatic ECU. tell him to try a manual ECU for that motor. On stock cams when shifting, I find it ideal to shift at 7,600-7,800. To launch like the pro.s hold rev at liek 6K-7K and ride the cltuch a whole lot to launch well and be in your pwoer band when you take off
ummm if the last post was directed to me about launching from 6k-7k…whoa I will be spinning for at least 15secs then I need to run the 1/4 shizt i’m think 20 sec,lol I spin real bad at 3k with thread at 80%
If you run 16’s in either a B16 or b18 with a 5 speed you either
A: Suck at driving
or
B: Have a worn out motor
If I can run 15.8’s with a completely Stock LS Teg, than surely everyone else canb do the same or better.
Wow, talking about running a 15 second 1/4 mile, wouldnt my pa be proud?
you have to learn to feather more
Elevation plays a big role.
15.6 stock with just a exedy clutch.
3 Reasons why you run a 16 in your teg
a: You Suck at Driving
b: Worn out Motor
c: elevation
there we go
