again, 14.9 is NOT out of the question with whats listed, however it is IMPOSSIBLE STOCK. thx.
it might be pssible but whatever. i had a 95 gsr with i/h/e and ran a best of 13.9. others at e-town said i had more done. that was my all time best. i had friends with the same year gsr with more done that couldnt beat my time. i also had a few friends run da’s. best they did were low 15’s. if its true thats great.
95 GS-R with IHE running 13s? I had a Civic coupe with a 98 spec.R motor that dynoed 175 whp and ran a 14.10. Granted there’s probably many other factors involved but all these “miracle” engines seem to be popping up.
my contour runs 12’s. Its stock.
My dog runs…oh, nevermind.
definitely not a miracle engine digitalhorizon. just a fine running gsr motor. also sorry i forgot to mention that i used drag radials for that time. and it was 13.9 not low 13’s. like i said it was a good run.
hehe we need to call webster and have them define STOCK for everyone, seems that cams from a later engine , i/h/e, and slicks are all considered stock these days.
didnt say my gsr was stock and they werent full blown slicks. drag radials. also just using it for comparison for the first post.
So, 175 whp, stock cams, stock header, stock airbox with Spoon drop in, and RS*R ex mag exhaust in a 99 Civic coupe that weighs less than a “stock” GS-R runs 14.10 and a GS-R motor that had roughly 145 whp stock, adds some I/H/E in a heavier chassis, implying that it is now in the 180+ whp range to be 2 tenths faster than my car.
45+ whp out of I/H/E.
hey digital,im not trying to argue the fact. dont know why my car ran the way it did. just am sure as shit that i ran a 13.9.im not saying it was the fastest and trying to compete. im just saying it did it, and did it in front of many spectators at english town in n.j.were also talking at least 5yrs ago. i will try to see if i have the slip anywhere, but after 5+yrs i dont know. any how what do i gain by saying idid?why lie.i dont even have the car any more. sorry to get the thread all crazy and all dont want this to turn into a b20vtec.com thing.i might even be able to find a dyno slip somewhere.whatever no use arguing over it.
I’m not trying to compete with you, I don’t have that car anymore either. I’m just saying my :bs: meter is going off pretty strongly at your statements, and using my car, which I know the modifications and horsepower output of, was what I compared your statement/claim to. If you’re taking it as me being defensive that my car was slower than yours then you’re interpreting what I’m saying the wrong way. It wasn’t a drag car and I didn’t care how fast it was.
I’m saying that I don’t believe your car ran a 13.9 with just I/H/E. The horsepower/weight figures just plain out don’t add up.
i hear what your saying and no not saying your car was slow.i have nothing togain from this either. the car was great, ran great and was fun.it was maybe the second time with drag radials , and i believe that played a big roll. i would run 14.2 all day if i had traction with street tires.ive raced many type-r’s civics with swap and one some and lost some.the car was a freak.but to end this bikkering ill try and find slips. i hope i can find them.otherwise i really doesnt matter to me. i have a 91 da that doesnt run any of the times on here and is my liitle project so im content with that. also not trying to get into a pissing match with anyone on the site. its totally not my thing.
No worries, don’t take it personally. I’d rather see the dyno slips if you can find them, just out of curiosity.
no prob, not here to argue. i hope i have them. mighta chucked them when i moved but i thought i would have kept them.no b.s i also have a friend that ran a 13.7 in gsr with type-r cams, cam gears i/h/full exhaust and drags. but that was tuned to the balls.had a field -vtec controller(back in the day)talk to you soon. always great pics by the way
.
milled head and racing cams?? ive been told to do that… my buddy did it and he’s rippin on g3 gsrs on the street like nothing… props on the driving…
I ended up going back to GLD last night, I took the car’s previous owner with me, my brother. HE managed to hit a 14.8 with a 2.1 60’. I could only get it down to a 15.1. But to whoever said I shouldn’t be running Type R times, I’m not, I beat one last night. Granted he couldn’t drive the damn thing, I pulled off the line with a 2.2 to his 2.4 60’, he couldn’t catch up.
this is the slip…
938 885
ME Type R
.274 .211 r/t
2.265 2.410 60’
6.392 6.622 330

12.720 12.831 1000
15.195 15.322 1/4

I’ll let my brother come in and talk about his 14.8.
15.3 in a Type R? :gay:
what tires are you running?
