what is eveybodys opinion on running a 14b on an ls? is any one running a 14b? this is my first boost project…what kind of power can i expecet to get out of it:hmm: i kno the 14b is good for low end boost but what do you all think? another thing am im thinking of running a block guard? are they good? i have herd bad and good about them…i would like to know the pros and cons vs. sleeving the block…i do not expect to run obnoxious boost but i wanna have fun with it…thank you any imput it greatly appreciated
I’m running a 14b on my LS, and so is another friend of mine. At 10 psi you can expect close to 250 whp. It holds 10 psi to redline no problem, and I’m sure it will hold plenty more.
what other engine mods are you runnin in your set up for the 14b?
i dont know yet…all i have so far is a stock motor…i dont know weather to sleve it or go with a block guard i gettin a walbro 255 pump and a set of dsm 450 injectors …i was thinkin of runnin je pistons w/ eagle rods or somthin…i dont kno really yet
What all are you runnin as far as internals, because from what i understand our stock internals should be ok at 6-8lbs of boost correct?
i have herd of stock internals runnin 14 psi without problem
We’re both on stock internals, and another friend was at 10 psi on a B18C1 with stock internals too. As far as how much boost can be handled, you’re reopening a topic that comes up nonstop. I actually think there is a thread about it right now.
its not boost, its power. stock internals are good to 300hp. now, “6-8 psi” varies alot btwn different turbos. no, you prob. wont need block guards, if you’re using a 14b you wont be making that much power to have to reinforce your block. like everyone would say, its all about tuning. get a fuel pump, injectors, some kind of fuel management unit and a msd btm wouldnt hurt (if you’re using an safc of vafc).
