I used to run a 14b on a 1990 4G63T DSM. At about 6.5K RPM, the engine stopped pulling. The 14b will run out of steam at 8K on your GSR engine. (BTW, is your engine a B17 or B18c?)
Although considering your 14b will be on a block that is roughly 0.2 liters smaller than originally intended (unless you’ve stroked or bored your motor), the volume of exhaust gasses exiting a 2.0 liter 4G63T at 6.5K RPM where it reaches cfm threshold on the 14b’s, could possibly be equivalent to 8K RPM on a 1.8 liter engine.
In other words, it is very possible for these two different engines to expell the same amount of exhaust gasses, but at different RPMs. (Requiring the smaller displacement engine to have a higher engine speed, to equal the 4G63T’s exhaust gas volume.)
Threshold of 14b’s cfm:
Engine code: Displacment: Engine speed at 14b’s CFM threshold:
4G63T 2.0 liter 6,500
B18c, or B17 1.8 or 1.7 8,000

Also, what manifold are you going to use? (Whatever it is, see if you can port it.) Also, I’d recommend porting the 14b too, as well as the opening on the down pipe. 10 PSI is no problem for the 14b. I used to run 11 and 12 psi on my 14b mounted to a 4G63T. Members at DSMtuners boost upwards of 15 to 17 psi on their 14b’s.
