(19 OCT 2025) What are you doing with your Integra this week?

(Automatically generated thread, please reply with your actions this week!)

gonna go to a junkyard to get a taillight socket because my taillight was out so i pulled out the socket to inspect the bulb and it pulled the red power wire out of the socket and i dont know how to re solder it since it is down in the socket id have to cut it open or something

Doh! Ugh that sucks man. Good luck. I haven’t tried to see if there are other sockets that might work. If you don’t see a G2 there, definitely look at the G3 or any same-year Civics / Accords.

also the problem was the contacts on the old bulb were pancakes. i installed the new socket and was second guessing myself but it was the freaking bulb contacts so i switched bulbs

Engine and trans are secured. Trans seems good. Engine seems ok but I’m just gonna keep my original one in the car since it runs great.

Honestly I’m not too worried about all that’s involved with this swap, I’ve read the FSM sections about 10 times each and it’s all pretty straightforward to me, factoring in the minor tweaks you need to make to the trans mount and the wiring. Ideally I will have the manual pedal set in ahead of time since that’s gonna take some effort.

Any plans to clean that up while you can? (i.e. before you install it)

Yeah I’m gonna wash down the trans and reseal it before I pop it in.

Shift linkage came in today and Amazon delivered the poly bushings. I don’t know why people say these are hard to install, I just sprayed glass cleaner to lube it and stepped on it until it popped in lol.

Also I hope I put the front bushing in the right direction, the cone side faces to the left if you’re viewing it from the driver position.

Old rotten junk:

Alright so the last piece of the puzzle now is pedals. I’ve been given the run-around with a couple partout guys in my area, but I got in contact with a guy who’s close-by today and hopefully he can locate his pedals in his bins full of stuff. I learned that he shares a shop with the other guy I bought the ECU and bracket from last week, which is funny.

A parts shop?

Just a couple of guys selling off some of their DA/EF stuff. Looks like they rent it for a workspace.

@NFULFX can you or someone post up a close-up shot of where your clutch cable passes through the firewall? I think I want to drill the hole for mine from the engine bay and I think it’s just centered in the circular “blank spot” left in the auto cars, but I just want to confirm.

I’m driving the automatic today. I’ll try to remember when I get home.

Both my hatch struts were blown. I put one new strut on my hatch tonight and it’s just enough to push it up now. I always hear the replacement struts are too strong, so looks like one is the ticket. I’m not sure if it’ll blow out quick because it’s doing 80% of the work, but for like 8 bucks we’ll see what happens.

Oh yeah, and I loaded up all my parts & tools into the integra to journey over to my buddy’s place after work tomorrow!
