lol me too. Sometimes I wish someone would just crash into to me then it’d all be over… but then it’d all be over and I’d be sad
I’ve thought this a million times. LOL That is about the only way I’m going to get rid of mine. I might be in jail after I get done with them though.
Amazing back story, love the DA and NSX.
Rare for someone to hold on to a car that long.
I plan on keeping mine forever…lol
Nice job keeping the gsr so clean after all this time! I almost bought a '93 in red back in 95 but for some reason I passed on it. Sort of regretted never getting it later on after also realizing how limited production they were. I just recently came across a '92 in Aztec green with 110k so jumped on it. Fun cars for sure
i wish mine still had that many miles on it. I just hit 279,000 on mine.

That’s what I’m planning, but you never know.
So.
I was about to sell off the 2 GS-Rs I have… 1 has a salvaged title from theft recovery bought it 3 years ago because it was sad and begged me. Had 130k miles on it. I’ve since put doors on it and tried to match the paint as the doors fenders hood and bumper were stolen and replaced with mismatched parts. The seatbelts didn’t work etc. So it’s got manual crank windows on it now the seatbelts work. The interior door panels were mismatched. Got those situated. Just fixed the inside door handles as they didn’t match (THANKS CARL FOR THE DONATION!).
My other GS-R was going to be built. Crazy high-compression ridiculous cams build. The body on it is nearly perfect. The back bumper has 2 scratches and the hood has a tiny dent by the badge. Hardly any fading on the paint 0 rust 0 dents and the interior is immaculate. The armrest is even like 95% complete (the support for the cupholder broke). I started selling her parts last month. The motor is now in rollinmyda’s garage…the transmission is sitting on the floor and all the cool parts are about gone. One of the local guys (Rabi… don’t know his forum tag) and his brother (TegFares) came by last night to buy my crazy ass cams. We got to chatting and talking about the stuff we’ve all gone through and parts and funny stories and it kind of renewed my desire.
Now, I’ve decided MiniDA (another local) is wanting a shell for racing as hers is no longer viable. So I’m going to take the motor out of the salvaged DB and put it in the super clean one and sell her the salvage one since it’s a perfect template for her. I’m going to rebuild the motor with some good pistons new water/oil pumps new valve train cams. Nothing crazy. And once it’s all rebuilt this summer drop it into the perfect shell. Today I’ve been seeing posts and talking to people and now this post popped up in a search and solidified my plan. Thanks a million v-tecpwr you’ve restored my “faith” to the teggies lol.

Troy, keep it going. I’ve had the luxury of having everything match and have it from new. I couldn’t imagine rebuilding a whole car. Mine is bad enough just fixing the regular stuff that breaks.
Thanks man. Well I’ll have 1 complete. Pulled the abs stuff out last night. Gotta get the power steering and a/c lines out next get it ready for new stuff! I like your heated seats idea… I might have to copy you on that
The heated seats are one of the best things I’ve done.
Are you putting the ABS back in?
No. I am doing a legend 2 piston conversion to it and dropping it to non-abs. Saves weight maintenance and I’m not going to be driving it in the snow anymore after maybe this coming winter (IF I do at all) so not really worried about them.
I have a guy who does upholstery, if I could get the seat pads and the wiring done I could probably get it pretty cheap depending on how much those pads are. With heated seats is it safe to use cloth? I have basically a brand spanking new interior in 1 GSR and a mint GSR interior in the other lol so I’m hard-up on which to use but it’s a nogo entirely if leather is requisite as I hate leather lol
My ABS has been pretty maintenence free so far. It really comes in handy in the rain. I would really think about getting rid of it. It can help you in the dry also.
You should be able to get the pads between $50-100 per seat. I’m pretty sure you could use cloth with them. That would be nice with GSR interior and heated seats. Sell me some front seats so I can have factory seats to save. HAHA
Yea ABS has it’s uses for sure. I’ve never really cared for it. I started off with non-abs so I’m pretty good at not locking the tires up and sliding off the road
I dunno about all that! I like my factory seat pattern…and floor mats. I want to see if this upholstery guy I know can redo the floor mats to the stock like vibrant pattern. The problem is they don’t have any holes or tears in any (even the driver side where the feet go) so I don’t know if I want to risk it!
My ABS has saved me a few times so I’m pretty keen on keeping mine going.
If your factory floor mats are in that good of condition, I would leave them alone. They are becoming way to hard to find in nice condition. I would just buy a set from Lloyds and have them fixed up to match like you want.
Show the big brake porn.
I don’t think I have any pictures of the brakes close up. I had Wilwood 4 piston calipers on the front but I took them off because I couldn’t stand listening to the brake pads rattle when I went over bumps. Also one of my steel braided brake lines broke so I had to put the stock lines back on and they wouldn’t fit on the Wilwoods the way I had it set up. I’ve been running just the AEM big rotors and stock calipers for a few years now. I might put the Wilwoods back on and try to put a spring between the pads to keep them from rattling. I have to get a new hard line on the left front first. The bolt is stripped out so I cant get the brake line off right now. Does anyone know if you can change the brake line without pulling half of the motor out of the car first?
You sir are a lucky man to own a pair of Acura’s best. Great job keeping them going, thanx for sharing…
I love heated seats, use them in my Accord throughout the winter. When we bought our ‘06 Pilot, we had a choice of 2 cars, 1 cloth, 1 leather… still kickin’ myself for goin’ with cloth(already replaced it once)

Yea for sure. I’ve driven in ice and snow enough that ABS is more of a hindrance to me because I’m so used to pumping the brakes. Plus once in a while a little slidy slidy is nice  lol.
That’s a good idea. They’re in good shape but not like amazing. I’ll post a pic if you want.
What was the braking power like with those wilwood calipers? Did you stay with the stock master?

The cloth seams to last a lot longer than the leather does. I just love the smell of new leather seats in a car.

Post a pic. I’d like to see them.
Braking power was great at the track with the right pads. On the street they weren’t very good in the cold even with a street and track pad mix. I never found a really good street pad for them though.
I ran the factory master cylinder. I is a 1" from the factory and I never noticed a difference when switching calipers.
woow… hats off love the pic with NSX
