This is what a guy I know is doing with his car. This doesn’t make any sense to me.
I’ve heard of people doing it with larger turbos but not a t4.
Is this really a logical thing to do?
iv never heard of such…i the guy weird?
is the guy weird?
He’s an idiot I know with a 2wd dsm. He only contacts me when he modifies his car. Basically he tries to prove his car is better than mine and I don’t care.
lol, thats funny
well lets just hope his POS dsm will blow up
Nah, i don’t wish that on him. Id rather he realizes that its not a practical idea, and doesn’t try it.
its not practical in anyway but if it blows up then he will learn from his mistakes
maybe whoever tunes the car will tell him, if he decides to tune it…
Im not catching on to any of this… A T4 turbo is not a small turbo. who told you it is not possible on a T4? hmmmm, I dont know what your getting at with this but on my old turbonetics T3/T4 57 trim, It ran out of breath at 27-28psi. that is a considerably smaller turbo than a T4. I have never seen a small t4 turbo EVER!!! and 25psi doesnt say much of anything. I can say I run 50 psi but to re-word that for you, “450whp on his stock dsm is risky, and doesnt make sense”. is that what you meant? but if his engine is built for it why not? also trim sizes, wheel dimensions etc… would make sense too. there are too many variations of a “T4” turbo to say in general.
Smokeintegra, thank you for the good info. As far as i have seen from this it is a stock block. i kept finding varying answers about t4 capabilities and thats why i asked here. as far as to block goes i know its a catastrophe waiting to happen because he will get boost happy with it and possibly ignore the knock sensor it has. I know this guy and I know that he might not go through with it if somebody tells him strongly enough.
hmmmm. this has no tech to it at all. a bragging contest and someone who needs a little 101 on turbo’s. this needs to go in general discussion. to answer your comment about stock block and what not, a stock DSM block along with B series stock blocks can handle enough power. its been proven time and time again. enough about that, like I said in my last post, there are too many variations of a “T4” turbo. if this were tech we would be a little more helpful but its not so I dont know why this was started in the assistance forums??
arg! when will people learn that PSI or BOOST mean jack squat! It is all relative to the motor, turbo, etc and will be different per application. So yes it’s perfectly possible and nothing out of the norm…
