350whp the easy way

Hey guys I just got my motor back from the machine shop an got it all put together(will post pics soon). I was going for an all motor setup but it seems like all motor just isn’t fun anymore since I got my turbo ef running. My question is this, my setup is running about 11.5:1 but I think with only about 7-8 psi I should have no problem hitting my goals. Do you think that is too high compression? Here is my setup:
B18C block,
Dart sleeves, bored out to 84.5mm
balanced an chamfered ls crank
Eagle rods, arp bolts
je pistons

B16 head,
Ported an polished
Sk2 valves w/5 angle job
Sk2 springs an retainers
Crower stage2 cams
Sk2 cam gears
venom intake mani
70mm bbk tb

Oh by the way I am running a vfac along with an s300

you might be able to get away with ~7psi on pump gas with a conservative tune. you are going to have to have a rock solid fuel system and a dead on tune and even then you are taking a chance. you can boost with that much compression, its been done a lot, but you need good gas. just make sure you run race gas if/when you turn it up. whether or not you make 350whp on pump gas will depend on the turbo you pick and your tune. you could probably pull it off. let us know if/when you do!

Sounds like an All Motor build that got seduced by the sound of a blow off a valve.
Why the VAFC when you have a Hondata S300?
Why the change of plans on your build?

IMO you would probly spend as much money on the extra tuning required for high compression as you would a set of lower compression pistons, on top of that, im sure you could get rid of the pistons you already have pretty quikly around here.

other wise sounds like a solid build.

Yea the turbo bug bit me in the ass!! I have a 91 hatch mith an a6/z6 mini me that is putting down 287 (lots of fun!) Since I have all winter I just might tear down the block again an sell the pistons.

you wont need 350whp with 11.5:1. the point will be that you have a more flat power curve compared to a lower compression, larger turbo setup.

im a big fan of 11:1 + 7-9psi.

i think the money spent on the tune will be worth it in the end. This car will be more fun then ANY low compression car. it’ll be more driveable, too.

i call bullshit till i see dyno graphs

It completely built with a filled block an vitara’s

+1 thats alot of power for a single cam.

my buddy has a d16y7 is it?(sohc vtec) pushing 295whp. he still has a lot of room for more power.

what if you’re running low comp pistons and for whatever reason decide to take out the turbo and go NA. wouldnt the car run like shiit with such low compression?

well yea. if you change your mind with 11:1 you can always just spray on top of that, or have some fun NA. Its a win/win.

sounds like a beast setup…
