Nitrous!!!
makes more sense and is more reliable then a cheap ls/vtec!!!
Now that I think about it, if I HAD to spend $500, I would buy a CTR intake camshaft (~$250), an ITR intake manifold (~$150), and have your stock throttle body ported (~$100).
That would come out to just about $500, and will be a nice flow increase and throttle response boost.
Get a hooker and make her think you’re gonna give her $500 for a night…
Bang the hell out of her for the whole night…
Wake up early in the morning and take off in your DA and not pay… :manual:
Now you still have $500 to spend… go ls/vtec
$500 will barely buy you a cylinder head.
:ghetto:
:iagree:
[QUOTE=kyle10182;1680465]i was assuming he was racing the chevy lumina at the track, not on the street. think about it though. he can put the nitrous on, hook it up when he needs it. get boost when he needs it, and unhook it and drive a regular daily driver all day long.QUOTE]
Yeah. but he’s not talkin about the track. He wants speed on the street. Not such a great idea to begin with. Even so, he’s not gonna jump out & turn on the bottle then jump back in @ the slightest hint of some punk-ass street jockey wantin some. Can’t buy much more than a simple dry setup w/ $500; so no remote opener either.
Regardless of all of it, racing on the street is just stupid, & dangerous. Don’t believe me? Watch the news. Say what you want. Buy what you want. Just save it for the track.
Straightline sucks. Attackin’ the corners is where it’s at. :getsome: :manual:
$500…well first a wicked exhaust and wing
then a engine swap
and finally this bad boy
cuz its going to be one hell of a ride!!:rockon:
HAHAHAHAH!
2 “Jay-Z” swap with “NAS.”
Dude… that 2JZ swap with NAZ had my whole dept laffing non stop.
Even to those whom, I had to explain what a 2JZ is.
500-800 bucks can buy you a used wet nitrous system which will be the best bang for the buck. You can preform the install your self… it’s not like you are building a LS/VTEC or swapping out pistons or installing a flywheel which you might have to pay to get done(labor) on top of buying the parts.
500 bucks for a used system… and 200 for a tune and I’m pretty sure you can come out with the rest for a remote bottle opener.
I can’t believe some of the suggestion posted. Unless all of you guys have experience taking apart your engine and putting it back together, most of the suggestions posed are completely off.
A 50-75 wet shot would be very reliable if approached in the correct manner.
However… there is only 1 draw back to this system…refills.
It’s now reached upwards of 30 bucks to get a 10lb tank filled.
A 10lb bottle spraying a 50 shot would give you about 15 passes on a 1/4er mile track. Remember… that spraying 1st,2nd,3rd 4th all the way down the track. In the streets it’s a little diffrent.
Unless you have 5 grand to spend… for get about the all motor route.
It’s cheaper to buy an ITR motor if you want all motor power and still be reliable for a reasonable cost. (unless you do you all your own machine work and assembly)
190whp(on the bottle) in 3rd and 4th gear pulls on a YS1 (short geared) is hella fun revving to 8000 rpms.
:iagree:yea, its good.
If I didn’t alredy drop about 10k worth of N/A under my hood, I would prob run nitrous also
(any time my NON-auto friends get in they ALWAYS ask “hey how mutch NOS do you got?” ) and i love saying “:squint:get out…”
sounds like my nitrous idea is starting to settle in…
Maybe suspension? If you can come up with a couple hundred more, you can get a nice setup. I have omnipowers on my DA and it handles great, being able to handle well is more fun then power IMO!
have u ever had power?
Suspension is really going to get you nowhere if you are looking for “fast” unless of coarse that is unless you spend well over the budget. $500 would hardly get you anywhere near where you would need to be to “go fast” with a suspension set-up. Stick with the bottle and trust me…You will be happy…yeah refills can be a bitch sometimes, but for the $$$ its soo worth it!
yea, and if u cant afford a refill, then fuck it, dont refill it!!!
Don’t you have to tune the engine when running on the bottle, that’s added cost.
u dont really need to tune anything with a ZEX 50 shot dry kit. u can plug it in and run the hell outa it. if u wanna tune, then tune later.
based on what you already have in your car… i would save that money and keep saving until you could do a really thorough turbo setup.
:iagree: i think this would be the best bang for your buck… that or a performance clutch. you can probably do both if you shop around.
oh… and you let a lumina beat you… i’ve never driven the b16 version of our cars, but my b18 easily kicks lumina ass. hell, my friend was pissed that he can’t beat my teg with his 96 v8 mustang… his has cai, mine has cai, stage 1 clutch. of course it is a ford we are talking about:down:
