what is different what is better?
so far all i can tell from looking around is the air controls
first off: ARCHIVETHIS. This question is asked all too often, so lets get the answer into the archives asap.
here is my addition to the list of differences:
-Steering Wheels: 90-91’s are 3 spoke, 92-93’s are 4 spoke (personally I like the 90-91’s)
-Mirrors: 92-93 ls higher model tegs come w/ color matched mirrors. All 90-91 tegs come with black side mirrors.
-Front Bumper: They are just different, look around for some pics. Most people like the 92-93 better, i know i do. Also, since the bumpers are different, so are the bumper lights.
-Rear Bumper: There isn’t much of a difference, but there is one.
-Alloy Wheels: The 92-93’s are straight 6 spoke design. The 90-91’s are hard to describe, basically just ugly.
-Gauges: 92-93 redline is slightly higher. Also, the needles on the gauges are a little different. The 90-91’s are all white. the 92-93’s are white on the top, and black on the sides—its hardly noticable unless you look.
Now for engine stuff:
90-91: b18a1: 130hp
92-93: b18a1: 140hp
Extra 10hp due to:
-better intake manifold
-better exhaust manifold
-better cams
Also, 90-91 tegs are non obd, while 92-93 are obd1
lastly, you noted that the air controls were different. This is wrong. The 90-91 and 92-93 air controls are the same. However I believe the RS model tegs have different controls from the LS and higher models.
I know there are a couple more things that i missed. but someone will mention them.
color matched side moldings?
color matched side moldings are only on the 92-93 GSR’s.
'92s say “integra” on the trunk badge?
my 91 also has an INTEGRA badge in the rear. The badging on G2 integras is sort of odd. There are a handful of different schemes.
must have been a 90-91 difference. Mine had an “integra” decal across the middle back there instead of the acura logo.

Its possible too, that they had some differences between the CDM and USDM ones

ps I know, the '92+ have less rust on them.

Im pretty sure the LS-S models also had color matched moldings. Am I right?
Should also mention that any of the cosmetic differences should not be taken to heart because just about everything was an option on G2 integras for every year. I have seen GS models without ABS or sunroofs…totally NON-modified. I have also seen LS models with plenty of power options other than a power sunroof. I have also seen plenty of 92-93 tegs without painted mirrors or sidemoldings. Just keep you eyes open because there are plenty of trends, but no guarentee that there is a standard of any kind from one model to the next.
Anyone actually know the technical differences between intake manifolds (ie, smaller diameter runners, bigger plenum, better porting, longer/shorter runners etc…). I’ve got a 91 that I’m having ported with my ehad and I’m wondering how much of a difference it actually has. A lot of people say its different, which I agree for the actual sensors etc, but what about on the inside. Thanks
My 90 GS has the INTEGRA decal in the back, powersunroof powerwindows, abs, no power locks though
my 1992 GS has no airconditioning…

yes, that’s correct. the ls specials had color matched moldings and the same 6 spoke 14 inch rims that came on the gsr’s.
90’s dont have A emblems, and they are the only ones with the Integra sticker between the tail lights.
Ben
Did any g2’s come with power locks?? The LS-S had painted moldings too by the way, a good friend has one.
Personally, I like the 92-93 cars. I like their steering wheels better… the 90-91 wheels look… kinda… raw.
10HP more for the 92-93… but I do like the taillights on the 90-91

Yes, some did come with power locks. I’m not sure which of the RS, GS, or LS have them but I know that the GS-R’s have them.
i got a 90 RS with ac and a flip up roof
ok i have a friend with a 90 RS and its plain jane model…but he does have ac…another friend has a 91 RS and it just has AC as well another friend has a 91 LS that just has power windows, sunroof and ac but no painted side moldings, another friend has 92 GS with power everyting but no leather and no painted mouldings but he does have the gsr rims, i have a 93 LS-S which is green the only color i have ever seen for the special editions and its fully painted with power everything but the locks and i also have the gsr rims another friend has a 92 GS-R that is fully painted has the armrest and power everything but no leather and last but not least i have another friend that has a 93 red gsr power everthing but no armrest and everything on his car is painted. out of all of us only one of the tegs has a decent engine swap the 91 RS has a b16 but its not as fast and my friend with the gsr and he just got more goodies to help push his teg faster…hehehe

and Special Editions.
Plus alot of 1990 GS’s (if not all) don’t have Power Locks. All 1990’s had the same Emblem settings as the G1 Integra’s and 91 emblems said “INTEGRA RS”, “INTEGRA LS” and “INTEGRA GS”. 92-93’s simply had “INTEGRA” and there was no way of telling what the model year of the car was, and the only way you can tell the trim level are by the features. If it has no Power Windows, No Sunroof, and Hubcaps, it’s an RS. If it had power locks, power windows, a sunroof, and alloy wheels, then it’s a GS. Anywhere in between is an LS. If it had Leather, the GS package with no power locks, and matching color moldings, it’s a Special Edition LS (and 91 LS-S’s are different than the 92-93 LS-S’s). If it has the GS package with matching color moldings, and an 8000 rpm redline on the Tachometer, then it’s a GS-R. Some 92-93 GS-R’s have emblems telling you it’s a GS-R.
Can someone tell me if there are any G2 GS-R’s with Leather?
