9004 to 9007 Headlight Conversion. MUCH BRIGHTER.

I did the conversion late at night. I have to say that I would not want my lights any other way (except 1pc or HID).

The only issue I experianced was space… it was difficult to reach the wires because not much slack was left on the wires and getting tools down there was hard. Drivers side takes the longest… passenger side you just pull the battery, you have plenty of room, and BOOM. Instant satisfaction.

Easiest thing to do… every teg owner should have this done for their safety.

do you know the lumens for 9006?

while you pulled the battery, you should have relocated it to the trunk. empties out a lot of space IMO

Can you use the high and low beams at the same time? I usually do this when people flash me with my current 9004 silverstars, pull the lever back a little and you have both beams.

Yes you can.

The only difference between the 9007 and the 9004 is the wiring configuration, so modifying the harness to use the 9007’s where the 9004’s were before will get you brighter light without any other complications.

And I do this too when people flash me.

anything for the 9003’s since they are 65/70 watts? (should be brighter)

I had the 9004 silverstars and just bought some 9007 silverstars from wal-mart. I have to say I really did not notice any difference except that the 9007’s are much yellower than my 9004’s.

That is definately strange. Have you made sure that all of your connections from the splices are 100% OK? Sounds to me like the new 9007’s aren’t getting the required power, which normally means either a dirty connector, or a bad connection/splice.

None of the connections were dirty, as I used brand new spade
connectors.

not to quote months late, but what headlights did you use for your fog lights? I just recently switched to silverstars, now my fogs are dim looking.

hiper 9003/h3’s i think

why does everyone cut and solder the wires?? You guys do realize that the wires can pop in and out of the plastic thing, dont you?? Just look at it, the wires are held in by little plastic clips.

What are you talking about? plastic…?? I solder’ed the wires to the spade connectors.

i realized this too late.

is this conversion for JDM or USDM lights?

USDM / CDM only.

You know the white plastic plug thats flat on top that the three wires go into. Where they connect into the plug there these little plastic clips that you pull up and the wires just slide out. Just swap the left and center one and your done. Took me about 30 seconds each side and I didnt have to do any soldering!!! Much easier. Took me longer to trim the tabs off than it did to swap the wires. Also just to let you guys know, you only need to trim one of those tabs off for the 9007 bulbs to fit not two. Just look at the headlight housing and you will see which tab needs to be removed.

Also, a word of caution. Myself and a couple other people I know had a problem burning up stock harnesses with the 9007 bulbs. I said fuck it and took the 9007’s out after my replacement harnesses burnt up too. Myself and 2 other people had problems with this so be careful. If one headlight starts getting dimmer than the other one take them out and put the 9004’s back in right away cuz that means your harness is about to burn up.

One of my lights started getting dimmer than the other, turns out it was a loose wire, it was the middle wire that wasn’t set in firmly, I wiggled it in there a little more firmly and it’s perfect now

Mine slowly started getting dimmer and dimmer until it finally just melted my harness. I didnt solder any of my connections I just swapped the wires in the plug so I’m certain my connections were good. Replaced the harnesses and it happened again so I just switched to 9004 silverstars until I get my one pieces. Happened to another one of my buddies too and Ive heard a couple different stories on the internet about it also. Glad to hear you fixed your problem so easily, I wish I could of. I loved the 9007 output but melted harnesses are not cool.
