1.Do you guys think this is good or what.

2.Now my concerns are the Engine Management what should I use for a good price
3. How Much would shops charge for this turbo kit to be installed I need a FAIR PRICE I am located in GA and I know prices range from different shops but i need the fairly price on this.

  1. Is this kit good for 200-260HP

MY ENGINE IS A b18a1
It has 163,XXX
Everythings bone stock
NO P/S or A/C
Have Replaced a new Clutch
and thats it.

No I know my engine isn’t gonna be reliable enough since it has 163,xxx esp boosted.

I dont want to go out and get a new engine, I can but I want to see some improvement on this one.

My Suggestions for the engine is to rebuild it. Dont want to built it its not necessary with my expectations:

heres what I planed
Eristic Head Gasket Set
ACL Duraglide 780 Bearings Kit
NPR Chrome Pistons Rings 81mm
JDM GMB New Water Pump
Koyo Timing Belt Tensiner
New JDM Timing Belt
New JDM Oil Pump
New B-Series Pistons

In Process of being orderd $359

  1. How much do shops charge to put all the following above just for the engine.
  2. Is this a good Rebuild kit
  3. Will I need anything else.

As far as the Tunning goes I already have a guy whos going to do it for me.

Thank you for taking your time reading this and helping.

sounds a little pricey for all that stuff… for engine management i’d recommend crome!

Why Chrome

Because you can use CROME version free and Freelog to do your data logging. = $0

You just killed your flow by choosing that turbo. You’re looking at alot of custom work.

An aftermarket fuel rail is pointless too.

you paid WAY too much for that “kit”. Someone raped you. Other than that it sounds like a good setup. Go with Crome. It’s free. Get Xeno to hook you up with a basemap for it as well as some wideband extras to tune that beast.

There shouldn’t be much custom work needed…I’m running a turbo from a '92 GM Diesel Pickup. That’s not a popular combo and yet it bolted up perfect. If you have a manifold that has the same flange then your gravy.

How is it alot of custom work when the only thing I need is tune up everything is bolt on man.

CIVIC INTERCOOLER AND PIPE KIT
20GDSM Downpipe
TURBO MANIFOLD WITH DSM TD05 FLANGE to FIT B-Series

I was going to say, the manifold, downpipe, and charge piping would all need to be custom fabricated to fit properly, but it sounds like you’ve got it under control already.

kit sounds decent, I don’t know why you need a 20G turbo for those power levels though.

I do know that you are gonna be spending a whole lot of money if you’re paying people to rebuild your motor, install your turbo kit and tune it…not to mention you’ve already put down almost 4K for a turbo kit with no fuel management.

Holy hell a 20G?
a 20G is good for about 460 AWHP on evos!
Grab a 16G and get rid of the 20G.

Even a 16G on my AWD turbo eclipse will put me at 350+AWHP…

And You want 200-260whp with 7-8 psi… You need to read a bit more.
7-8psi on what? a 20G? 16G? t25? T3/T4?
I know u mean 20G. but you see what m saying?

your turbo is fine, it’s good for about 400-440whp at 25psi!

16g’s have a hard time making 350+whp, to pull that much out of them you are already pushing them to 20-25psi, they start to move out of there efficenct range around 22-24psi, plus on stock sleeves on a honda i’m sure they won’t last that long at such boost levels!

A 14B or 16G is fine for your goals. the 20G is a litle excessive. Remember guys, he’s only wanting 200-260whp. a 16G would be MORE then enouhh for that. Is that an SSAC manifold? also, that civic IC piping won’t work at all for you, you’ll have to make your own hot side completely.

you shoulda bought my kit! i am not as familiar with that turbo you guys are talking about but my bolt-up kit is rated to about 240 on 7-8psi in a b18b. my turbo is a t3-t4 hybrid. Wouldn’t it make sense that his larger turbo would be able to put him in his powerband? just asking.

Where does 20G spool.

So should I get the 16g Small or Big Turbo…

MY INTERCOOLER piping is done perfect there was some welding and extra piping but its good now.

my 20g spooled near 4k with a full ported and polished head on my 2.0 liter dsm, sheet metal intake and the works… that was my favorite street turbo i had on that car.

small 16g is wasting your money. those turbos seriosuly suck.

a 2.0L DSM will always spool faster then a 2.0L Honda

yeah but only by a little, some friends of mine, boith have t67s on thier cars, ones a dsm ones a 2.0 ls, they both spooled near the same rpm range.

the setup looks pretty good but as for tuning, look into EcTune… i think its better than hondata as far as options go but i’ve never used it so dont take my word for it… talk to Xenocron… hes tuned with it before… good luck on your build!

would a big 16g be good on a b20 if i wanted to make 300-350 whp?
