my 93 teg ls topped out at 6900 rpms at exactly 150 mph. i have a video of it somewhere. COMPLETELY stock internally and nothin but a i/h/e modified. Im not sayin i made it up there very fast but i sure as hell got up there. DONT ASK WTF I WAS THINKING WHEN I DID IT!!
:drunks: :fuckrace:
I’ve seen that video numerous times. It is very inspiring. I do agree that 140+ is an interesting speed. I have pushed my gsr to 135mph here … that was nice. But just having the ability to push 200mph and repeat that at my leisure is a nice thing. The clip you are showing me is the top speed 253 bugatti.
yes it is the Bugatti but the guys talk about what it takes to have a car to go those speeds… just thought that would kinda of put it in perspective.
so they did it, now it is our turn to show you don’t need an overpriced beast to near the same. Anyone dare to participate?
i dont think you understand they did it with 1000hp and $1,000,000. so lets hear your budget?
i am not aiming for 253 either
Really isn’t anything cool about going 150mph + on the streets or highway.
one of the following will happen…
A) You will get a massive ticket and probably lose your license.
B) You will lose control of your car, due to possible part breaking / change in road surface.
C) You will slowly decel back to legal speed and think nothing of it… Continue to do these speeds Until either A) or B) takes effect.
you do realize that some of the serious italian supercars don’t even get to 200, right?
do you even know that it took almost 700 EXTRA horsepower to get the Veyron from 150 to 250? do you realize what that means trying to get a honda to 200?
oh jesus i’m in this one for the long haul. mods, please don’t lock this, at least not for a few pages. this is gonna be fucking hilarious to see this pan out.
god i gotta link junkman to this one…
I wanted to stay out but you are correct this just gets better.
By supercar you are referring to cars that have teams of designers for every aspect of the car. The door handle for instance has to be placed correctly or the drag coefficient of the ENTIRE BODY will be compromised? Just making sure you and I are on the same page Mark before I take a crack at this.
An integra hitting 200mph? Maybe if it fell out of plane. Or there was that topfuel dragster with the 94+ integra headlights painted on it. That might have hit 200mph.
7 to 10 psi? Will you be using 1 turbo per cylinder? Lets use the Ed Bergenholtz CRX as our example here. Ed was pushing around 700hp on a turbo reserved for 18 wheelers (i dont recall the exact size off hand). His fully gutted CRX with OEM front rear and side glass was hitting 10’s. With more gutting , lexan and some more tuning he was in the 9 second range at 153mph. This is a race prepped drag car here people. A fully gutted CRX that is already lighter than the integra to start with , now factor in HUGE turbo , 1 piece fiberglass front nose (hood , fenders , bumper) giant slicks and a professional driver. He couldnt hit 200mph in a 1/4 mile with 700hp. God only knows how the car would hold up in real world conditions or if it could even hold together and hit the 200mph mark.
Another example of a professional purpose built race car with a huge budget not being able to hit 200mph in race conditions.
The integra is a mild sports car at best. Its more a commuter/grocery getter. The only things it shares with a gt car is that it has an engine and wheels. 1 gt car cost as much as 50 integras brand new. Not to mention spares of everythng. Save your money. Buy a gt car and paint it to look like an integra then you will be close to 200mph.
A 200mph car that can be daily driven with OEM parts? 1 word. Bugatti.
Do you live in germany? Even sections of the autobahn are speed regulated now. Correct me if I’m wrong but the HIGHEST speed limits in the US are in the 80-90mph range. Is there any reason WHY you need to go 120 mph over the speed limit other than for internet fame?
Tired and failed numerous times with purpose built race cars with teams that have nearly unlimited resources (money , talent , information , dealership support). Its not going to happen especially with something built “astronaut farmer” style in your garage.
I am curious too.
i found this really interesting part i thought could help you in your journey,

now just bolt 3000 of those together… 25hp a pop, plus the stock 140hp, thats 75140hp… now u can go 300 in reverse and ask the guy in the veyron what he thinks of your one pieces!
I always miss the good stuff.
Remember to copy me.
Wow, you guys are a bunch of haters. How about you take your hate and turn it into good forward thinking. If not, then don’t reply.
If you truly think that 200mph can’t be achieved in an integra DA chassis, then don’t bother to waste my time and this bandwidth with your negative comments.
The so called haters are the people that are looking at the facts. You need do research this kind of thing before getting defensive. Where are you planning on doing this 200mph run?? I really hope not on public roads.
Omni:
Salt Flats is the place.
I am only being defensive to those who chose to show their stupidity
I thought G2IC had members that put forth a forward thinking attitude.
It appears that there are cave dwellers that live off an ill-set minded mentality who chose to echo the prehistoric insults for a comment of their intuition.
Run 200mph and then post back. In the mean time, if you can’t take other people’s negative comments (more like facts of reality), don’t post. Simple as that.
You making statements such as:
“I am only being defensive to those who chose to show their stupidity”
“It appears that there are cave dwellers that live off an ill-set minded mentality who chose to echo the prehistoric insults for a comment of their intuition.”
WILL NOT get you any more positive comments and further instigate negative. This thread ends now. Post back when you hit 200mph. If you want real answers, ask people who build cars that go faster than 140mph.
