hey i found this ite on the internet showing how to add horsepower to ure car. let me know wut u guys think.http://www.ultimateresourceguides.com/content/freemods/civic-si-freemods.html
not a bad find im my opinion.
joe
nice find
Nice article!
I’m curious how bypassing the coolant in the TB would increase HP. Anyone know of any ill effects if this is done on the g2s?
that line that goes through the throttle body actually heats the air that goes in. it does that to avoid freezing in winter. the problems that you might run into are idle problems, especially when cold.
he told you if you read it that in his ls swap in his vic that he got about 10hp and 10tq gained as a result of this
Everyone should dyno their cars and then do all 6 mods if applicable, to their g2’s and then dyno again to see how consistent the numbers are.
if u wanna pay for the dyno time ill do it
lol

yea, everyone should do that to there G2’s. lets have a meet in celebration of 10 extra hp.
reading is fucking mental!! Where do you see 10hp?
This one I saved for last, and for good reason. This is
perhaps one of the best modifications that you can do for
basically nothing. As you’ll see in the dyno below, which
is of my Integra LS motor in a 92 Civic hatchback, before
and after: I got back almost 10ft-lbs of torque over
the entire rev range. 10ft-lbs that was present in the engine
when completely cool, but once at operating temperature was
no longer available. This is good for about 0.2 seconds in
the quarter mile in my particular vehicle - needless to say
I’m very pleased with this modification.
amen. I honestly dont think the 1hp you might get from indexing the plugs is worth a trip to the local dyno.
I never asked how much hp or torque increases. I asked how (or why) it increases and kyle10182 already answered.

Yeah ummm, It’s the same book, same site link, and same author.
I’ve done the TB coolant bypass on both a b16, z6, and my 350ci small block. You definately notice a slightly cooler intake manifold. I would have to say that the IM goes from HOT to WARM. But, on a honda/acura engine, you will notice a bad idle when the motor is cold.
the claims for 10hp, and/or 10lb/ft of torque is BS.
Indexing the plugs is worth the while if you want to be meticulous, and so does shaving the ground electrode on a copper plug.
i’ve heard that indexing the plugs with land too much fuel on the spark plugs and foul them out sooner.
I highly doubt that. Whoever told you that should provide proof of that instance, or at least begin to understand the properties of tuning their cars correctly instead of dumping fuel into the CC.
If that is the case, then I would imagine people who set up their cars to shoot flames out the back in the downshift would be in a world of trouble.
i got the throttle body lines re-routed like the link says, works way better, when the car is cold, you really could feel the power:bowthank:
