I was looking in the Turbo guide at some of the vacuum line routing pics, and I am curious about what happens to a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator, such as the one that comes on just about all honda’s, when boost hits it? I mean, the thing adjusts fuel pressure when the throttle in opened which reduces the vacuum in the intake manifold, therefore increasing the overall fuel pressure, but won’t one of two things happen:
The internal diaphragm in the fpr rupture under boost.
The fuel pressure rise waaaaay too high.
???
Lastly, what are you guys doing about the brake booster vacuum source? High positive pressure shouldn’t be good for the brake booster, right? Should I install a check valve inline with the brake booster vacuum line?
im not too sure about the first question with the fpr but regarding the brake booster, im pretty sure there is already a check valve in line with it(stock).
Oh, how embarrassing. I forgot to think about the fitting that slips into the brake booster and how it is a uni-directional flow check valve. My bad.
Two more questions, and then i’m done:
3) I am assuming though that everyone just removes all of the purge solenoids and all of that crap that attaches to the firewall. Right?
4) One thing that bothers me for sure is the question of what about all of those dashpots that are attached to the stock intake manifold? I mean, they require vacuum, but with boost, will they haunt me in the future? or what?
I hope I don’t have to keep asking more questions. I really appreciate everyone’s patience so far.
i also always wondered about that. since im boosting next spring im interested to know as well. im gonna let the turbo shop do all the vacuum routing. even tho im a mechanic, they have a lot more experience with turbo’ing honda’s theni do.

As far as the dash pots go, i would think you can remove them. My Intake manifold has one removed all ready.
I just finished boosting my da and only left 2 things unplugged from the manifold… both of which i believe are emissions related… anyways i’ve decided to hook them back up, but instead of on the manifold, I will hook it up to the preturbo intake pipe (always vacuum)
