Hey I have been talking to a guy on HT and am looking at buying his intercooler but I have a couple questions. He does not know the brand or how much hp it will support. I am looking at running 550 WHP in my setup at a minimum. Should I steer away and buy one I know that will support this or should a air to water intercooler support this hp? also I was looking at using 2.5" piping however the intercooler has 2.25" inlet and outlet. Should I find one that uses 2.5" or would 2.25" be good enough. I will be running around 26 psi on the high end. Thank you
Not sure what you mean by supporting the hp. Could you show some pictures? I plan on running an air to water intercooler with my setup, but my setup will be different.

here are pics
It looks as if it will do its job (cooling the temperature of compressed air)

anyone else maybe have a more definate answer on my questions?
i would say go with a normal front mount or something in stead of bothering with the extra piping and possible leaks from that guy’s homemade job, how ever it does look good.
besides, it looks like it is way to small for that amount of power and psi.
I just installed a 3S-GTE motor in a celica with a factory water to air intercooler. The intercooler itself was no larger than the one you have pictured there, and the motor is rated at 250hp completely stock. It had a little water pump under the battery. The difference is that this car had its own radiator on the front of the car just for the intercooler.
I don’t think its too small at all, and WTA intercoolers do have benefits. I say go for it, its way cooler than a front mount air to air. Are you planning on adding a radiator to cool the water going into that tank? What is the set-up going to cost you, price wise?
I am kinda leading away from the water to air intercooler cause i’m not 100% sure on the setup of it. I really need to decide soon though. My full motorbuild it costing a lot of money
are you gonna be drag racing alot if not you should just run a front mount

he is looking at 550.
I have decided to either go frontmount or buy one brand new from precision. I do plan on racing freqently not tons but more than I do now
