so i see my mom today and she tells me in a super-concerned voice that she heard that some acura model has had a recall placed on it. according to her, the airbags in it can go off and send metal fragments at the people it is trying to help. she says that i should make sure to check online and see if my car is affected. i tell her “mom. My car doesn’t have airbags…”.
okay…
and it was funny because our cars don’t have airbags! it would have been more funny if i would have written that i’d said my car was too old to have airgabs. however there are older cars with airbags. well… it was funny at the moment!

SOME 01 and 02 Accord and Civics had a recall recently on the airbags. I don’t think Acura’s had one for the airbags but then again I don’t work at an Acura dealership. If she is affected she will get a letter in the mail. That is funny that she said that to you

The recall on airbags was for Civics. As far as I heard recently.
And since we’re on the G2 airbag thing, I’ll share my ‘airbag’ story.
I needed to pass inspection one time but my horn was busted so it failed. The mechanic doing the inspection offered to fix it for me, but for him to look at it would take a while cause he said he had to take the steering wheel off and it had an airbag in it so it’ll be a while.
I let him finish his BS speach and told him there’s no airbag. He insisted there’s one and I’m like Dude there’s no airbag. I own this car, I should know. He’s like Well I’m a mechanic and I should know! So I’m like Ok Mr Mechanic, let’s go look. Took him to the car, popped the streering wheel center cap off, took the wheel off and I’m like Where’s the airbag genius? He just shut up, and I took it to a diff place for the inspection after I fixed the horn issue.

I would have so walked back to the other mechanics and told him what just happend. I know for a fact they would have been ripping him a new one all day.
Good job on leaving that place too. Whenever I hear BS spewing from “workers” like that I always take my business elsewhere. (Case in point: Tire Kingdom)
