almost turbo!

ya im getting mine tuned in maple ridge, lots of good shops out here.

UPDATE: I just found a street tuner that will be able to street tune my car on crome! YES!!!

well ull see how long it takes when u goto put it in. unless uve boosted cars before give ur self atleast 3 weeks to a month to get everything put on ur car and tuned even if u have all the parts which u dont (from ur pics) it will still take a long time unless u cut corners and dont do it properly. This is just what i have experianced but ive been trying to do everything perfectly and have been consulting with dcp turbo and doing proper maybe ur a really good fabricator and it wont take u as long. but when u goto school and work it takes a while. and im asuming u do one of those soo give urself some time and dont rush it and do it rigth or do it twice

i dunno man if your refering to parting the kit together i can see what you mean, but i bought a full turbo kit and that can be shipped in 3-5 business days, then take it in to a perfomance shop for instlalation ( assuming your not doing it yourself) takes them 4-5 hours for installation and then a 2-3 hours tuneing , it can take less then 6 days :stuck_out_tongue: with shipping or if you have the kit…matter of 6-7 hours and 800$ in labour to pay but its alllll up to the driver

im installing it all myself with the help of a few buddies of mine. Im thinking it should only take a full day to install everything( if not less) How in the world would it take 3 weeks. PLEASE explain that to me. I would love to here that. okay first this is saying that my intercooler and piping is all mounted and cut to fit. I will take off the cross member, remove the header, drain the oil/remove the oil pan, put the new oil pan, mount the mani/turbo, mount the downpipe, connect the return and feed lines, mount the wastegate, and finish up, connect all the piping together, vacuum lines, install injectors and ecu with basemap. Make sure everything starts up. and wait till my tuner comes down to do a street tune.

Come on now, im sure it always sounds easier then it is to do it, but you got problems if itll take you 3 weeks to do it.

yah 1 day is fine if u have everything done

i took 3months cuz i slowly lazyly peiced my kit and worked slow becuase i didnt need the car to run since i have a daily driver

btw read ur horn thread. hope it helps

ya one day is fine as long as u have a complete kit that 100% fits which doesnt look like u have right now… maybe after u get ur charge pipes.
dont forget ur couplers and t bolts … hood clearance on the wastegate…trying to keep powerstearing / ps cooler rack…ur gauges…where ur putting ur wg vacum line which should be tapped into the charge piping close to the turbo … charge piping hitting the bumper support… like these kinda things will set u back maybe not 3 weeks but give ur self a few days cause u will run into a few problems that will set u back

im fabricating everything from scratch and i dont have a welder and its my first time so i gotta do a bit of running around. other misc parts installing gauges/ making charge pipe / down pipe / exaughst/ half rad/ oil lines /mounting the ic / relocating power stearing lines and overflow tank and cutting the bumper and supports bunch of misc grinding and welding and only haveing about 3 days a week to work on it things get dragged on. I guess im in a different boat then u since im fabricating mostly everything and ur pipes are gonna bolt up im jsut saying u got a ways to go probbly a month or so before u see boost i just hope its not before me casue im getting anxious :stuck_out_tongue:

that power stearing circus took one day LOL painting all my pipes and fabricating took 3 days cause the radius on my bends wasnt enough then i needed special couplers fro my turbo and where my ps goes which took 3 days to get (none in stock) but ya little things i never thought of and its been 2 weeks 2 days and counting LOL i hope urs goes smoother then mine and im still not done!

yeah I made the route of the PS lines short by removing the cooling lines. cut 2 holes for the charge pipes with a hole saw. Your car looks real nice and looking like it would take more time as you relocated the battery and have a halfstack rad. Looks almost complete, what are you missing? I already hooked up my boost guage watching go from vacuum to 0 wanting it to go into boost already!

im pretty sure the g2 is the most difficult honda chassis to boost due to lack of room and how everything is set together.

im missing a 90 degree coupler that goes from 2inch -2.5 lol dont ask how much this piece of silicone costs. after that jsut gotta get the down pipe welded and my oil drain welded in … just waiting on ppl mostly which is a bitch but better then buying my own welder

yeah that 90degree is what 40-50bucks. trust me i bought all of those already just waiting on shipment. I got my oilpan bung welded for 20bucks.

$63.00 US about $70 plus taxes :expressionless:

MattV why dont u get DCPturbo to tune it… those guys know their shit… right now they got a 10 second crx tuned on uberdata first street legal fwd to hit 10’s at mission raceway

i hear you on that man, 70bucks just for a damn coupler, try ebay, might be a little cheaper. But im going with a 2.5-2inch straight coupler and putting it on a 90degree mandrel bend.

hmm maybe ill check them out, yea its that black one, i saw it on friday at the track.

ya man didnt have time to order shit off ebay lol that would be another 2-3 weeks to put this kit in LOL gluck trying to squeeze a 90 2.5" bend behind the rad our engine bays are a tight squeeze … i guess it will work if u point ur compressor housing straight to the ground

Mattv check out their website www.dcpturbo.com or call 604-765-1121 (Andrey’s phone) and talk to him they tune with mostly uberdata but im not sure waht software ur going to run. also they can fab up anything for u

UPDATE: just got my 440cc injectors from spoolinperformance! and my chipped ECU from phearable.net.

I got my intercooler piping about a weekago and its all cut to fit from throttlebody-intercooler-turbo. Going to install this coming week and my tuner is going to come down and tune me on crome! I’ll up date you guys with more pics and when i’m tuned!

Stay tuned!
