I definitely like the blue. I ordered a bunch of random led’s off the web and I have my manual cluster that came with my parts swap stuff and I plan on just finding good placement on them. I did make sure to get wide angle LED’s and will maount through out the cluster and see what happens. Hope to have pics in the next few weeks. Also ordered small SMD LED’s to solder into the climate control and push buttons on the dash. Got green and Amber.
If anyone has pictures of this still can you please repost them? Thanks
sorry if anyone went over this before but i didnt notice. so i put in amber LEDs from superbrightleds and they are really dim. the dimmer switch is all the way up as well. i may try to grab another switch or 2 from the junk yard and test that. but was woundering if anyone else tried the ambers from them and how the results were. i may just switch to blue seems it definitely gives good results. here is a picture as well. not the best but you can see how bright my switches below are compared to the gauge.
Yep I had the same problem. Went back to stock and the lighting was so good I never bothered with it again.
Why get amber leds? get the amber bulbs instead.

are the needles just bright ass white or being lit up by the 2 lights at the top…or are they lighting up too? if they are lighting up…how did u do that :sipread:
I ordered mine on Friday and they should be in either Monday or Tuesday. Superbrightleds is in St. Louis about 210 miles from me. I am salivating over your pix 1sickG2.
I ordered UV for the needle lights and blue for everything else.
Just installed mine and I am very impressed. Got 74’s for the climate controls and no issues at all with fit. However they will not fit in the sockets for the needle lights. Gonna try some T1.5s for it.
here is mine. White LED’s, originally, i change everything to red, but i wasn’t impress with the output, so i tried the WHITE STRIP LED’s, and this came out good. i will post more pictures not only the cluster, but also climate control, lower center console with white LED’s. I was thinking on putting a new Thread on how to do the clusters, step by step, climate controls, and Center console to help our peeps there who are scared and have questions on doing this modification, but i really don’t know how to do it here though… i already have pictures…
Today I switched my 194 super brights and used 24’s. Swapped the bases to use the 24’s led in the 194 base. Made all my lighting even and the same color. I installed blacklight Leds in the needle light housing, took out the blue filter strip and colored the needles neon orange. Looks hella cool now and I dont think am going to fuck with it again.
With the needle lights you need to shave off a little pcb to make the T 1.5s fit right. Dont shave them and you will bust the pcb.
so while doing this mod i accidently broke my speedo cable… careless i know, oh well… i pulled the cable out of the transmission already and im getting a new one tomorrow and i was wondering how do hook it back up to the transmission? thanks guys. i know theres a diy here but i cant really tell on how to do it cause theres no pictures and the descriptions are pretty bad…,.
Beautiful~! Can I ask if you used standard bulbs or LED based ones?
^ I would also like to know what you used LED’s or regular bulbs?
I did mine in blue like the post. didnt like the results so i also went back to stock. i would love to read a new thread as to how to make the LED swap with bright results.
i used regular bulbs and used orange transparent film and put it on the inside of the switches. i used amber bulbs for the cluster, hard to tell in the pic, but the color doesnt match.
Amber Interior Lighting
Did mine a few months back…just got all new bulbs and did a lil bit of orange sharpie facelifting on them put em back and good to go…no led bull shit or fancy bulbs. Just a sharpie and its all even when lit and still can use the dimmer… :getsome:

The speedo was a b*tch the first time i attempted doing this, but its really quite easy to do. The actually speedo cable is pretty stiff, so you can pull it towards you, I had to pop my hood and pull it from inside while my friend pushed from the engine bay. Then when the gauge cluster pod is being put back in just feel around with it, you’ll be able to tell when the speedo is inserting , then just push it back and you’ll hear it click in. Then your good to go.

runs great still, just gotta keep up the preventative maintenance hehe[/QUOTE]
For people with this problem, its easier just to unplug the spedo cable from the tranny before messing with the cluster. If you do it that way, you can just pull it forward, and its way easier plugging it back into the tranny when your done.
So im confused… those holes for the lights are already there on all 2nd gens?? I just have the stupid white light that shines on the front of the cluster.
