OK, I have the resistor box wired, everything is good, now I need to put my injectors in. But they won’t fit yet because I haven’t bored the seals. Now, I heard the rubber one stays the same but that’s bull because you can’t put the rubber on the injector and just slide it in the manifold, and you also can’t put it in the manifold and try to squeeze the injector in. Also, the part on the bottom of the injector that goes into the seals is way too big. Can anyone help me with the information on the seals because I’m stuck. BTW, these are 390cc automatic Eclipse injectors.
i dont understand the problem? just bore out those bottom seals a little and theyll push in with some oil.
on page 11-108 of the helms, the diagram shows (From the top), the fuel rail, o-ring, cushion ring, injector, seal ring, then intake manifold. you only need to bore out the seal ring.
i believe i used the o-ring already on my 450’s since they fit slightly better than the honda ones, honda cushion ring, dsm injector, then bored honda seal ring. i had to use lots of oil and nudging for the dsm o-ring to fit into the fuel rail. i guess the honda o-ring wouldve been easier i forget.
So basically what you’re saying is that the hard plastic ring that is on the bottom of the injector as it enters the intake manifold is the one I need to bore? What did you bore it with?
yes-hard plastic brown part-bore out with dremel
you might just want to bore out plastic rubber piece just a little so you dont have to fight with it
my dremel broke so i just used the biggest drill bit and slowly circled around the inside.
Did you use the sanding stone, sanding drum, or a carbide cutting piece? Seems like the sanding stone or drum would be the best choice. How much did you bore it out? I haven’t taken my stock injectors out yet, I’m just sitting here looking at these 450cc Blue Tops.

i probably would have used either the drum or stone. not sure how much i bored, i kept going little by little and testing until i got a good snug fit. maybe like .30 to .60mm? i dunno. like i said, i accidentally ended up boring it like a cone, and inverted that actually seemed to help seal better.
That’s cool, I just wanted to get a mental image of how much I’d be taking out. As always, thanks for the info. One thing’s for sure, Dremmel’s are great.

You can also use a very sharp exacto and apply pressure on the inside of the seal while rolling it back and forth on a table, slowly taking the plastic off.
You might want to look into getting new injector seals from Napa, the kit comes with a skinny seal(like stock) and a taller green seal that works better for the dsm’s.
also, i recommend placing the seals in the intake mani, putting the injectors up in the fuel rail and the pushing them together, slowly making sure everything lines up right.
How did yall make your intake piping? I see people talking about this, did you use exhaust piping?
theres 2 kits when i searched which one ? or whats the p/n
