thats not an antenna that is a jdm parking pole
Werd. JDM parking pole not antenna. Although that would be cool to see.
i was wondering when you would ask the g2 kids. wish i could help.
lol i heard it was antenna… either way, i need a write-up on this.
i have the parking pole on my integra. It was plug and play on my xsi. it came with the harness, relay, and button… what exactly do you have? Are you even sure it works? :).
Looks pretty cool, like an RC car.
So how does the parking pole work? Is there a sensor in the front so when you get close to a wall, the antennae goes up telling you how close you are? I’ve seen those around but never knew how it works…
You hit a button on the dash and the pole goes up. Flip it and pole goes down.
It’s a stupid piece of JDM ricer garbage, a public announcement that says one of two things:
I’m spacially inept and need assistance parking my already extremely easy to park compact car.
I blindly follow trends regardless of how stupid they look, and I know damn well that if bumper poles came installed as standard equipment on USDM cars, I’d go all crazy about trying to find a JDM bumper without a hole for the bumper pole, and then I’d tell everyone how much cleaner the bumper looks without that pimple up there.
I find this thread fascinating, because the OP said “I want that antenna on my bumper,” and when told that it wasn’t an antenna, he said, “Whatever, I want it anyway.” Truly fascinating.
It looks cool on 90 DA’s xsi, but I think in order for it to fulfill its intended purpose it should really be mounted on the passenger side of a left-hand drive car, unlike the photo posted at the top of the page.
True since we drive and park on the right side of the street as opposed to driving on the left side.
You hit a button on the dash and the pole goes up. Flip it and pole goes down.
That’s it? It has nothing to do with parking? Why is it called a parking pole if it serves no purpose? Sorry… I don’t understand JDM jibber jabber! :read:
It does deal with parking. It allows you to see how close the front corner of the bumper is when turning in.
Thanks spikeymike. That’s what I was thinking.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but I heard that their roads are smaller and parking spaces are more compact. Reasons for the Parking pole, Folding mirrors, bumper intersection lights and etc.
Yep.
steronz
steronz, please dont give out incorret info!
the button for the parking pole is NOT on the dash!!! it’s by the e-brake. the switch also says “POLE” on it. with a picture of a pole. lol.

Hmm, seems I’ve been pwnd.
I suppose a button that says “POLE” would be worth a few humor points
Ah I see… all this time I thought the parking antennae works like how the backup sensors work. Like when you back up and you’re getting closer to an object it beeps faster… so for the antennae, if your bumper is getting closer to a wall or whatever, the antennae would raise up higher and higher…
