Well? Hope you got the low 12’s you’re looking for. My goal of low 13’s is more modest, but then again I’ll only have about $1200 max in it. B20B-turbo.
Weekend was plagued with problems. I only got a 12.51 at 115mph. better then last time but ya. WAY too hot out like near 40 degrees, running 6mph slower traps. I ened up repalcing my FPR to a diff one 6 hours before the drags at the drag strip so at night I had to retune the whole setup which was a pain. And I ended up breaking my traction bars and cracknig my windshield rom launching so I couldn’t really get any better times anymore. Next time is Night drags so I’ll be looking for low 12’s then!
Holy crap! PLEASE EXPLAIN THE BROKEN TRACTION BARS!!
I just built a set for my car (That’s the sort of work RCS (me) does.) It would be nice to know what the weak links are for future builds. Sorry you had the problems, but 12.50’s aren’t too bad. You broke the windshield too? damn bro.
i have a 91 camaro and a 91 integra, im on the camaro forums and when you take a v-8 add a list of goodies to long to list and run 13 it sucks. i gave my iroc to my wife and wrench my integ, my integ is way quicker then my iroc. but il give the in the seat power to the camaro, but its really dissapointing.id rather have a 14 sec import 4 cyl then my 15 sec v8 iroc that drinks my money.
I broke the link where the radius arms bolt to the cotnrol arms. both side bent upwards. I am running their new redsigned version hicha ttaches the radius arm directly tot he control arm now with a brace.
I ran at the tracka gain last night. new best time!! :D:D
12.1 @ 124mph w/ 2.107 60’
I’m looknig for 11’s next time with a bit more boost. All my runs have been at Ashcroft which has 1700’ elevation, and this is on street legal Drag radials.
Went racing again this weekend. I just went:
12.02 @ 127mph @ 2.09 60’ - Street Tires(BFG DR)
Almost touching 11’s
Nice to hear! I havent yet had a chance to go back yet… When are you going to step it up to some slicks?
When I run 11’s on street tires.
Then I’ll go home with high 10’s with slicks later… I leave SO much pwoer behind for the first 1/8. I tried pwoershifting from 3 to 4 to try to regain soem tiem and I did a rolling burnout lmao
your car must be making tons of power to do a burnout like that… But then again I spin the tires going from 1st to 2nd on a 23" slick… it feels soo good the way slicks grab… I dont know if your going to pick up a whole second though just from slicks…
I am also running 25.5" tall tire. With the trap speeds and car weight/et. I’m making arpox 450whp. A few passes I was running 129.5mph
10’s on slciks is pushnig the limits of how well I can drive and sue the power. But that’s what we’re here for
any of you guys runnin the full-race traction bars, and how is the ride height on lowered DA’s
I run the FR traction bar. What exactly do you mean by ride height? Did you mean the ground clearence? I beleive it hangs about 1" lower then the OE one.
yeah thats what i ment, so do you scrape like crazy or do you use it only for track use
No, even when I was canned, I hardly ever hit it. If I hit that, then I’d hit everythnig else on the car along with the front lip and the oil pan almost. It would be a MAJOR pita to swap taht in for track use only. It’s something you run all the time, or not at all, as it effects your alignment caster settings. Right now I’m only lowered 1.5" to fit the larger tires and wheels so I couldn’t scrape the traction bar if my life depended on it.
I’ve scraped the bar on my car dont get my wrong but something to consider though is your ride height. If your scrapes on that traction bar your car is too low to begin with and its probably effecting your ETs to begin with.
Speaking of which, Tchleung How do you have your bar set up? I have mine as far forward as I can get it but then I cant fit my slicks on… My boss is telling me that the extended wheel base isnt worth the hassle that I’m putting myself through when I go to the track…
It’s true more caster is good for drag radicing, or any kind of racing. But when I ahd my caster adjsuted quite a ways mroe forward then stock, I found it would rub everything. I set miens to 1* more then factory and for the gains, I’m gonna set it to factory so it doesn’t rub as much as it still rubs “sometimes.” The way I race it at the track, is the way I drive it on the street. So driveability means alot to me. Then again, I also run 18K rear spring rates… :manual:
Ummm… I need to get an alignment… I have so much positive camber… I know its because I have that bar adjusted all the way forward…
I bet you you’re at like 10* positive caster lol. Luckily I jsut do my alignment myself at work hehe.
yeah its really bad… I might have the best turbo shop in the northwest but I dont have shit for alignment tools… :*(
Any suggestions? Something to get me close when I go to get an alignment?
