Has anyone used small fans on their IC to increase the air flow across it? I found 2 6" fans on ebay for $30 and was thinking about doing this!
Honestly … doesn’t sound like a good idea. If the car was never moving this might be a pretty good idea (I use that loosely). Think about how much surface area these fans will be covering … that surface area will be blocked while the car is moving (which is when the intercooler will be most effiecient), preventing the intercooler from doing what is was designed to do (cool the air).
I think there are better ways to spend the money.

Not trying to be a dick by any means … Definitely keep thinking differently.
I found that Porsche used fans on their top mount IC’s, but I think that is because it is rear engine and there is not as much flow!
Makes sense in a top-mount scenario, and especially in a rear-engine car. But I’m with the others on this one… it sounds like an obstruction more than anything.
