I called crest acura in syracuse, NY and the service rep told me it only covers the actual buckle and not the motorized section. is this true? i thought that they covered the whole assembly.
Another ignorant Sales Rep that doesnt know jack about the warranty. Can someone post the wholle seatbelt article for him? The whole seatbelt system should be warrantied.
This is what I found that might help. First page.
thankyou guys…I’ll just go in and ask them to pull the warrenty up in front of me.
so i called and told them i had the page about the warrenty…he told me no…gave me a number which only did inbound calls so that was pointless then they told me there gunna contact there rep. and whenever i call it seems like the manager is not in or at lunch…fuck this acura dealership
Let me know how this goes. I’ve been to one dealer already and they said no. they also took the liberty of quoting 600 bucks to replace the whole assembly. My drivers side belt wont move. Passenger side is fine.
eff that.
and that thread is 8 years old. Plenty of time for policies to change. I agree with everyone here and say that is BS. I didnt decide to put electric belts in the damn cars.
^i have the exact same problem…my drivers side shoulder belt is stuck and wont move
You need to call the corperate headquarters. Explain to them how this dealership responded to the warranty.
Acura Client Services
1919 Torrance Blvd.
Torrance, CA 90501
1-800-382-2238
that’s the number the guy at the dealership gave me…I called them and he verified to me that the warranty is ‘legit’, but told me they can’t do anything, because they cannot make outbound calls.
can they email you something stating to the fact? Or get it in paper somehow. Then print that out and show it to the dealer.
That’s so dumb they “cant do anything” yea right. They can communicate internally with dealers i’m sure otherwise what’s the point of having a call center like that.
Yea i’ve researched a bit and it could be the door latch. There are 3 wires connected to that switch (door open signal, ground, door closed signal). I’ve already tested this in my particular car by shorting the open and closed wires to ground at the 3 pin connector and the belts still dont respond. You might want to check just to see if it’s the door switch in yours.
Does anybody still have their original manual…if you do can you please scan the warrenty page and upload it on here for me please. I need the original page and show that American Honda did’nt distinct between the mechanical and electrical portion of the seatbelt assembly. They stated the whole assembly is covered. I have an appointment with my dealership tomorrow at 10am.
(after about 30 phone calls) I just need the whole page uploaded on here so i can print it.
thankyou so much
I had to go to Reno last week to get one of my belts fixed and they also tried saying no. So i showed them the warranty and said if i get in a crash and get hurt,i be seeing them in court. They looked at me and said they would fix it. Don’t let them push you around,be strong and don’t back down and they will fix it.
did they fix the electrical portion on the seatbelt assembly…I need back-up…did any other G2ic’ers actually have them fix that part with the warrenty. Im thinking one of the switches by the computer is bad
It was the switch that went out. And they did indeed fixed it. Its a safety part of the car and they had to follow the warranty.

good info …off topic it said that the muffler is life time as well if you are the orignal ower did i read that right?
Correct Courtney.
I’ve had the driverside buckle assembly in my old gsr replaced a few years back, it would not accept the lapbelt. And last year on my current 4dr they replaced the driverside track assembly because it kept going back to the open position. Easiest way to get it done is to go in and talk to the service manager, they usually stock the items because of the nature of the problem.
And yes they did wash and vacuum my car too.
