i’ve been searching but can’t find annything. i am going to be turboing my automatic integra. i like my automatic and dont want to swap a 5 speed. im going to get a blox 12:1 fmu with a t3/t4 turbo and going to run between 6 and 8 lbs of boost. my question is am i going to need an inline fuel pump with a set up like this
i dont think so, i think if u stick with a 255 walbro, you should be good to go…one thing id maybe spend money on if u want to go fmu(which is kinda werid these days) is bigger injectors, like prelude 330CC. u can still run ur stock ecu, just ur going to be going to running nice and rich…or get a basemap and go from there, i dont even know how the auto tranny’s would hold up with boost.
i have a vortech FMU if your interested 100 shipped
okay. im using the fmu because nobody does chipping services for autos and it seems like what others with autos are doing. and ive researched and autos can do okay with low amounts of boost. would an intake fuel pump be better or just get a performance inline fuel pump to supplement the stock pump? whats the ratio of the fmu?
I’ve only seen 2 turbo automatic hondas (b18 motors) come through my shop and both of them had tranny problems between 180-190+ wheel horse power… the torque converter couldnt handle the power…slipping… unless you plan on doing some tranny work which could cost alot of money i would go 5pd!!!
Honestly its gonna run awful with an fmu and larger injectors. You wont be happy with the outcome and yes, tranny issues are a definite. Best option is to add a manual trans, clutch, and auto to man trans mount to the turbo build and it will be way better. Auto to manual conversion isnt really that hard to do anyways
