hey, i am getting ready to turbo my 2nd gen jdm b16a. the head was a little warped so it’s been shaved down .005. i was wondering what this is going to do to my compression ratio? my original plan was to run 8 pounds of boost. although i’m sure its still fine to do so, i was wondering if i should throw a thicker head gasket in? and if i do what size to get? also will i be able to safely run a couple more pounds of boost? thanks
Psi really depends on the turbo. A larger turbo pushes a lot more volume of air then a small turbo at the same psi. Also keep in mind turbos have an efficenty band. If you have a huge turbo at a low psi it’s really not the efficiency range of the turbo

what he said. and you could run wastegate pressure and blow the motor!!! its all about tuning.
hey thanks guys. sorry took so long to reply back. what i meant to say and forgot to include was if it was safe to run on pump gas. did some research and got it figured out. 10 psi with a t3/t4 ar.50. / oem head gasket/ 92 octane. the tuner estimates about 300hp. but i have to get my turbo rebuilt first. thanks for the advice.
