b18a stock turbo ls fluc. idle

as the title says, my b18a motor is starting to idle funky. i just replaced the headgasket and put in arp headstuds and i just started the car today and i get this.

STock internals
dsm 450’s
.57 trim turbo
chipped ecu by xenocron

What could be the culprit?
I was thinking it could be the gas but i put in 3 gallons before i replaced the headgasket

Also, there are two vac. lines from TB and from something else. I Think they came from the stock air intake pipe but now there just lying there. i closed them up by screwing in some screws and they sealed it pretty good. Just thought you should know this cause maybe this could be the problem.

I’ll take pics of needed

Let me know whats up. Thanx

so you had vacuum lines that were originally hooked up to something, you unhooked them and sealed them up “pretty good”, and you’re asking why your idle changed?

hmm.

ha yea i thought id get a response like that.

Should i try to reattach them to my charge piping or some sort source of vacuum?

Or would sealing them “great” or “perfect” would be okay too?

I would recommend attaching them to an open space on your vacuum manifold.

right now, the two ports used by those two small canisters in the back are tee’d off for my bov and boost gauge. im still thinkin of where i should put them or just leave em be.

also, is there a better place to get vac. from for the bov? i’ve read the fpr or that canister thing near the fuel filter. not really sure which one would be better. im asking this because the vacuum source from the IM doesnt seem to open the bov while im just revving it. i’ve seen many videos where they can just rev their motor and the bov will go off. i dont get anything at all. and while under boost, i get a fluttering noise and i was thinking it was compressor surge BUT it also says while under low boost it will sound like that.

i’ll wait to someone gives me a response to where i should tee it from before doing it.

I"ve got a generic hks ssqv btw.

thanx

Okay dont really care about the bov sound, but i do want to get this idle problem fixed.

Right now it will fluctuate from 1000 to about 1500 rpms constantly. Watching my boost/vac gauge, the vac goes from 20 to about 10. I put more gas in thinking that it could be low on fuel but i believe there is a vac leak.

I do remember breaking the pcv valve grommet(while replacing pcv valve) but there was enough hose there in the manifold that i just stuck a new pcv valve in it and it sticks. Im not sure if its sealed in there too great but do you think that this could be causing the fluctuating idle?

I’ll take a video of it tomrrow and then i’ll post it here.

PLZ HELP!

Edit: Found this video on youtube and my prob is something like this. Funky idle vid.

im thinking that it might be the idle air control valve no?i just did my intake manifold and so i needed a IACV, changed that and it was gravy… ok yeah thats def it. plus something else isnt connected on the IM… i cant remmeber… but my integra is doing that right now as we speak… it might have to do something with the cold start… i have it every morning. its a small problem thats easily fixable… especially if uu have the stock manifold still. just find someone that knows how to work on them and they can fix it quick fast

I am not sure if this information will help

BOV line - tap into the Intake Manifold to Map Sensor line
Boost gauge - tap into the Intake Manifold to Fuel Pressure Regulator line

PCV #1 - From Valve Cover, to Catch Can, then exit to Turbo Air Inlet
PCV #2 - From Intake Manifold PCV, then exit to Turbo Air Inlet

Sourced this from the G2IC Turbo Guide.

kallmijonx2; do you have any pix of your set up so we can know exactly what you are talking about?

Install: Moroso oil pan & pump pick up, new drain line, new water line

sorry wrong thread

well, basically i removed both the two hoses i thought should be plugged up but here are the pics:

I was also wondering how to adjust the throttle cable? My car is ideling @ about 750-800rpms and wanted to bring it back up to 1k. Is it a good idea to adjust the cable or just fix the vac leak.

jaylo: thanx for the find. i wasnt sure if it was a good idea to tap from the map sensor but since its from the G2IC turbo guide, no reason for me to doubt it.

Thanx

EDIT: double post

BUmp: Any ideas?

Those two vacum hoses go on the intake. first fix the vacum leak. Then you can adjust the idle on a screw that is on the throttle body on the top left side (if you stand on the pasenger side point of view). And make sure you have all your GROUND cables conected PROPERLY!
