b18a1 turbo or nitrous?

hey i was wondering how much boost i can put on a stock b18a1 block with eagle rods, srp pistons, and a block guard? and what compression pistons should i go with? or what kind of setup do i need to run 150 shot of direct port nitrous?

IMO- i would not trust block guard. It probably expands and contracts at different temps then the sleeves and the aluminum block. I wouldn’t see it beneficial to stopping the sleeves from cracking or something of the sort. but thats besides the point. The amount of boost is up to you. the eagle rods will take (i believe) up to 600hp?? idk if thats correct but i wouldn’t push anything past what the stock sleeves can handle. Boost more and the sleeves wont handle it and crack (over 350hp or so would be my guess). Boost up to 300hp with your setup would be reliable with a good tune.

Make sure u tune it good…lots of people dont do it and then bom…but ey bro im polish too, been here for 6 years!

maybe you should go back.

fuck you?

don’t bother with him.

come on guys, can’t we all just get along?

i wasn’t fucking talking to you, i was talking to the dipshit that gives respectable folks like you a bad name by trying to associate with you however he can.

but hey, might as well cry racism. it’s a lot easier than thinking.

in the context of this thread that is all I see. I don’t lurk the whole forum all the time, so I can’t see every beef that happens between every member on here. I’m sorry for my ignorance.

Anyways, back on topic- i was thinking about your question (OP), what kind of racing will you be doing? what kind of car are you trying to build here? full out race or just a weekend warrior? Whats the ultimate goal for the vehicle?

i’m putting the motor in my 91 teg and i wanna make the car reliable on the street cause its ganna be my every day driving car thats why i was considering going with nitrous cause you can turn it on any time you want. but i have my stock motor now hooked up with 75 shot direct port and its just not fast enough and the bootle just dissapears in minutes and i hate runing out of something that makes power.

well on street tires, i would push maybe something like 250 whp. it can be done on a stock LS engine(that is in good condition of course). My suggestion is to read the turbo guide. http://www.beesandgoats.com/boostfaq/g2icturbo.html

btw- boost is like free nitrous

one more question how much direct port nitrous shot can i run safely on a stock b18b1 with b18a1 head?

i have no idea, cause i don’t deal with nitrous. Maybe someone else can chime in here. All i know about nitrous is as follows: If you forget to put the “pill” in the line for a dry shot, it melts pistons and scars cylinder walls. lol (happened to my brother) needless to say, he doesn’t deal with nitrous anymore.
