i have a coupl questions about my b20 on juice. first off i just got a b20b jdm engine. how much nitrous can i run to that? im running a wet nirous fogger set up. i have arp headstuds, eagle block guard, and fpr. and i was also wondering what cams would help with a nos set up on a b20? would crower 404s work with juice? thanx in advance:roll:
this is very similar to the setup i am running in my car. i have an nx single nozzle kit and an nxl nxl direct port kit on my jdm b20b now. other major mods to the motor currently are a skunk2 intake manifold and outlaw engineering phenolic spacer kit, itr throttle body and a rage 2.0L header. i have not run the car on the nxl yet, but i have run the car a few times with the old b18a and the single nozzle kit at the 50hp setting, no problems. i plan on using a 75 shot through the single nozzle on the b20 and then maybe trying a 50/50 two stage setup with the nxl if traction is a problem. all on this with the stock b20 on race gas. my teg is a race car, so i run race gas. if this is your driver and you have pump gas, on a stock b20, i would recommend you stay at the 75hp max level. i have a ported head and 404s that are not on the motor yet, but will be after some stock head and cam/nitrous testing. so yes i think that 404s are a good cam for a nonvtec nitrous car (but you need the compression and intake to make them work). here is my reasoning and advice to you: if you want a strong nitrous nonvtec car, first build a strong setup on the motor; put together a good combination. this means headwork, intake, pistons, rods, cams, and a header that all work together to make power in the desired rpm range. then spray in that range, see what happens. you need to make sure your fuel system is up to par. an intank pump and adjustable regulator for 100hp or less systems at the least is a must. cam gear tuning comes into play later and i can explain that to you then, but first just get a 50 shot on your stock motor and get used to that. i have two mustangs that i drive on a daily basis that both have nitrous, and i have had a few other juiced hotrods in the past, so this isnt my first time around the block with the giggle gas. let me know if there is any other way i can help you…
