hey thanks for the help
any time
my guess would be that it is exactly the same as a b18 turbo since it basically is a b18 but just 84mm cylinder walls instead of 81mm. but thats where the problem lies… smaller cylinder wall means its probably weaker.
-unless someone else knows any other problems i think thats why people don’t do the b20 turbo.

What do you want to know?
Externally, its the same as a stock LS motor. Only difference is the thinner sleeves and bigger pistons.
People have feared doing a turbo B20, but its nothing a good tune wont take care of.
Keep the motor cool and it will love you.
I am by no means an expert, but its been my understanding that the thickness/hardness of the sleeves themselves is more important than the diameter of the bore, and that given the same thickness of sleeves, a smaller bore can withstand higher pressure than a larger bore.
I believe this is why an H22 doesn’t hold up to as much boost as a b16/b18, obviously taking into account compression ratio, etc.
true,
but its been done many times before.
If you want to run the risk of knowing that you sleeves will crack when under boost, by all means do it. But many people have had success of it running fine, by tuning afterwards.
so u guys mean the if i change the sleeves on the b20 before i put it on the car , it will b a good thing???
wat also i will need to change, im not planning to pass over 8 pounds of boost , the must pushing it… it will b 9 to 10.
once againg thanks guys.
