Battery drain/newb Q about multimeter

You will always have a draw on the batt. there are loads on the system at all times, [memory for the ECU and radio presets and clock] .06-.07 is not much, either your not doing a proper parasitic drain test, or there is another problem.

Do you not have a 12v test light, if not can you borrow one, they are only about $2 splurge and buy one.

Do the test using the pos.(+) batt. terminal using the test light, if the test light lights up at all, there is enough of a draw to call it parasitic.

If the test light does not light up, then you have another problem, probably a bad batt., [will not hold a charge].
How old is the batt.? 94

I just got the battery replaced so it’s only a week old now. The one I had was bad. It’s an auto zone gold battery. I don’t know if its draining now because I’m driving it everyday. In a few weeks I will know again if the battery keeps getting drained.

I tested a few other cars and the draw is usually between 0.02 to 0.06 ish. I believe I’m doing the test right because on mine the numbers keep jumping while on other cars with no drain problem the number sits at a constant number and doesn’t jump around like mine. I will try a test light though to double check everything.

I to am having the same issue with my 91’ GS DA. The batt keeps getting drained if it sits more than a day. The alt and batt checked out fine. I need to get a multimeter and start checking things.

Do you have Automatic seat belts?

I need to get a multimeter and start checking things.
It’s easier to find a parasitic batt. draw with a 12V test light then it is with a meter. 94

check the wire that’s on top of the alternator mine had a bad connection and it would keep my car running but not charge the battery. i test the battery wile the car was running and it would read 11.9v then i fix the bad wire and i test the battery agen it read 14v sens then the car and battery are good.
