Beaks and Benen Rear Lower Tie Bars

discontinued sucks. how much longer bolts did you get from napa parts? is there a part number or something?

i just took in the original bolts and told them i needed that thread pattern like an inch longer and got some washers to get it away from the body.

I wish I would have never sold my Benen black RLTB. It was NIB. Although I did get twice what I paid for it. But now I can’t find another. Same thing with my RSR header. Shit.

^^^i hate when that happens…i had an oldskool BRIDE seat and got rid of it for $40 because i didnt have a car to put it in…3 months later i bought my DA…

anyways…now to try the benen tie bar for an EG/DC…

Oh I had (and still have it) the car. I just decided not to put the $8K worth of new parts i’ve been buying onto it and just keep it as my daily driver. And decided to sell everything. I should have kept the irreplaceable parts. Even sold my bronze 16" Mugen MF8’s.

^^ didn’t i buy the benen bar from you?

possibly. Was this just about a year ago? When I was selling ALL my stuff (MF8’s, TE37’s, Full Race traction kit, NEW NSX calipers, EM Racing Bars, ect.) That was like the last Benen RLTB around, and NEW. I’d buy it back in a heartbeat for what I sold it for. Just can’t find one.

I contacted beaks a while ago about their tie-bar and this is what they replied:

Sammy,

Sorry for the late reply.

I have not fitted the EG tie-bar on the EF/DA chassis myself. But I have confirmation from a customer that it fits.

Looking at the Beaks bar it should fit the DA. The Benen bar is the same for the EG/DA so I don’t see why not. It’s a pretty clean looking bar but I don’t really like how the brackets bolt to the bar and then bolt to the car. It should be 1 piece. Seems like it loses some strength that way. But then again I’m no expert.

so if a representative from beaks said it would fit then i will order mine this week

i think so and nope. not for sale. i was looking for one for a while.
if you read the entire thread (which is like 17 posts) you will find your answer on which ones to use…

no one make 1pc tie bar for DA’s thats why one member mention to use the crx/civic rear from benen and another mention he used the front one froim a 92-95 civic/94 & up integra…
explicit makes a 1piece bar for DA. i have 1 its great

Here are some pics of the Benen EG/DC Front Lower Tie Bar installed on the rear lower of my DA.
I had to buy 1/2" longer Grade A bolts, relocate the ABS lines, and install washers between the bar and the subframe, other then that… No major modifications and IMO it looks like it site higher then the Beaks Bar would.

I drove the car to work yesterday and felt a huge difference in responcive steering, and less noise from the frame twisting in the rear while taking some hard turns at 45+ mph on a back road.

I would still like to try a real rear lower tie bar from Benen in that location, but for now this one will work. :excite:

I commend you on your idea, but I really don’t think that looks good at all. It hangs down to far for my tastes. But once again glad it worked for you and great idea to try. Thanks for taking pictures, instead of just claiming it

Thank You.
It looks like it hangs down low, but in reality it sits just as low if not a smidgen higher then the Beaks Tie Bar would… (on a DC2, Measured this 3 days ago for example).

The way the car is sitting, The front lip and front subframe sits lower then this bars hangs, So I’m not to worried about scraping or decapitating roadkill with the bar. :bowthank:

i put on my beaks bar today for an eg and it fit with no modifications. it hangs really low though. oh and im not running an exhaust so people can see it haha. pretty soon i should be running a custom exhaust that cuts off over the right lca. let me know what you think.

is that a beaks rltb?? or a fltb?

JDM1nt2B: i actually bought the benen tie bar from you i think… here it is on my car!

its a rear LTB

oh where did you buy it from?
