Beaks and Benen Rear Lower Tie Bars

i got it from jhpusa.com. it got here prety quick
i put on my beaks bar today for an eg and it fit with no modifications. it hangs really low though. oh and im not running an exhaust so people can see it haha. pretty soon i should be running a custom exhaust that cuts off over the right lca. let me know what you think.

Props to you  The bar looks good.
Have you hit anything yet with it?

It seems that that is the on-going question on this topic, but I’d like to shed some light on the subject for everyone.
I’ve been rolling around for a couple months now (95 miles a day) with the Benen FLTB mounted on the rear.
It looks like the bar hangs low and will cause major destruction,… However… That’s not the case.
It actually sits in line with the center of the inner wheel.
The bar clears all speedbumps and most everything else.

the front of our cars sit lower then the rear, So if you do run over anything, your bumper, lip, oil pan/exhaust will eat it first before the rear tie bar gets it.

If anymore of you end up doing this mod, Please post pics.

thanks man. nah i havent hit anything. just like you said the front sits lower so everything is coo. even when i go out of driveways it doesnt hit. PROPS back at you for doing the fltb.

edit: the beaks bar does rub on the floor. i checked it today and some scrapage. but im prety low so yea. or maybe it was from the fools that jacked my car and wrecked it. who knows.

Beaks bar does fit…

straight bolt on. no end links required. The bar itself comes with brackets that give you about a 1/2 inch or so room to go left or right to line up with the bolt pattern. Mounted that up with some Skunk2 Pro series LCA’s. only problem i ran into is that i hit my head on my tow hook which serves no purpose at all. But hey it was free. gonna go back and tighten these bolts up. …

the bar itself is meant for a EF , EG , or a DC2. BUT NOW ITS ON MY DA.

How much are you selling for?^

will do.

did anyone ever find out if the DC/EG benen, not beaks, lower rear tie bar fits the DA?

^ I thought jhpusa.com sold a beak RLTB specifically for a da? If this is incorrect,…what application would I have to use in order to use a BEAKS RLTB?!? I’m in the market for one now, and I’m looking for a straight forward answer!!

don’t remind me. lol. Never thought i’d be building another g2. Well I’ve been reading a bit lately and i’ve been finding conflicting info that the DC benen bar will fit our car although i haven’t found anyone that actually did this yet.

Anyone?

theres a guy on the 2nd page that did a front lower tie bar from a eg/dc on the rear of his da
Here are some pics of the Benen EG/DC Front Lower Tie Bar installed on the rear lower of my DA.
I had to buy 1/2" longer Grade A bolts, relocate the ABS lines, and install washers between the bar and the subframe, other then that… No major modifications and IMO it looks like it site higher then the Beaks Bar would.

I drove the car to work yesterday and felt a huge difference in responcive steering, and less noise from the frame twisting in the rear while taking some hard turns at 45+ mph on a back road.

I would still like to try a real rear lower tie bar from Benen in that location, but for now this one will work. :excite:
yeah JHPUSA has a Beaks rear lower tie bar for the DA. they say they got one from Benen also to fit the DA chassis

The Benen bar I have up there is the one specifically for the DA (Long discontinued). From what I understand the DC bars are different, never tried one though, so I’m not going to say for certain

saw that but thanks. Im specifically looking for a rear one from a different car onto ours. That front one mounted on the rear sits way too low. Right now im looking for a shop locally that sells the DC ones. Hopefully they will let me test fit it.

off topic, but mrpenny what rear sway is that?

I just ran across this link

it looks like the op got a rear lower tie bar off an eg to fit on the da?

Sorry mildsquare, I missed your post. But that’s just one of the older Suspension Techniques bars. The new ones are bright green, same bar though
