I have a turbo that I want to get rebuilt. Has anyone on here gone through them? Or known anyone who has? If so, any feedback?
Ive heard bad things about there rebuilds not lasting very long.
I have a friend who has used them as I recommended them to him. Turn around was quick and pricing is very reasonable. I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.
When I turboed my Teg, the shop I bought the parts from used a Blaast T3… It was leaking oil like crazy. Second turbo, another Blaast, shaft was bent and turbo was making an awful noise when spooling. Third turbo, from another shop, has been on my car for the last 2 summers with no problems!
I don’t want to talk shit about Blaast, as I heard about some good experiences with him, but for me, it was not and I would not buy from him again.
i use to priase about them
first turbo shaft was seiized// said it was due to oil starvation… NEVER had under 20 psi
ok no problem ill just let this go
next is my turbonetics t3/t4
rebuilt it… 1500 miles later, i have shaftplay and makes noises
that was 7 months ago.
Claims its b/c of oil starvation again. never had under 20psi when driving
never going to be using blaast again
search “been blaasted” on htm
tons of bad reviews
From what I heard (quite reliable source), he’s only replacing the bushings and seals in a rebuild… So if the turbo was in good shape before, you will be golden, but if it had quite a bit of play or wear, it will still be the same after, only with new seals and bushings.
Hmm. Good stuff to know.
I’m looking for somebody reliable. Anyone had experience with a turbo rebuilder that is consistently putting out good work?
If so - who? And what is their website / contact information?
And any “proof” of good work in forums or reviews somewhere?
