BLKACK1's Build Thread

I actually grew up in springs and if I still leaved nearby I would picking that wrench up. Your build thread shows what a lot of time and patience can do. Can’t wait to see more pics up.

We got a good amount of nothing done on Friday, waiting on parts FTL. Come out here and we’ll help you guys out

Im going to have too second that one right now, still waiting on work of those lines kev. ill hit you up as soon as I know whats up.

Sorry for the delay people, my computer contracted a little virus and my brothers had my computer for the last week getting it fix, but im back in full effect now

here the progress made up to the point where as mrpenny stated, waiting on parts FTL

sway bar as well as the cat and shiftlinkages where first up.

next I get the UCA mount bushings pressed in.

getting them mounted to the SK2’s

After installing the SK2’s, as I was putting on the ball joint boots. I came to find the drivers side ball joint is Shot:( And even thought Im not 100% percent sure Im going to keep these in due to the issuse stated in this thread

Im in the process of ordering new ball joint and upper plates and Im going to give them a shot anyways due to the fact I dont plan on riding slamed to the ground and encountering the said caster problem. however I do have a set of SPC’s that are ready to go in at the drop of a hat if need be.

From there I moved on to pressing the hubs and getting the knuckles ready

parts ready for install

hubs are going in

finishing it all up with new hub rings

All done

last things to be done before i had to stop was put the tierods on.

Now its time to call weksos and find out what up with those ball joints. stay tunned:)

Damn that is all looking good. Nice job on getting it all put back together and glad the computer is fixed. Good to have family members who can help in other areas. Me and my brother and Dad are good at car stuff. My other brother is the muscle. Me and my sister are the computer nerds. Mom cooks…

wow thats alot of work, but it will pay off.

thanks guys:up:

I ordered new balljoints yesterday and might try and get out there and get the front brake hooked back up tonight

soo jealous, your car is gonna drive like a dream!

Looks freaking awesome man, I have a question about new lower ball joints and ur tie rod ends, do you have any recommendations as to what to buy? did you go OEM? or from parts store? I’m weary of getting this stuff from autozone or something because I don’t know if they’ll last. Just wondering your thoughts.
Again, seriously awesome work though, car looks great

like a wet dream :stuck_out_tongue:

Im a believer in, you get what you pay for, So it OEM all the way, if its
lasted this long, it should last me another 15+ years

I got my tires mounted today, now I just need my ball joints to show up:hyper:

car pooks great cant wait to see the finished result. Sure are inspiring me to go and restore some of my suspension parts. Good luck.

I don’t post a lot on here but your build is a real inspiration for me! I love how you pay attention to details and just how you work.

Your car is really clean! Great job!

I swapped out my front springs today, and I have to tell you, sitting in my driveway under those filthy ass fenders fighting to break loose seized bolts, and more fighting to get my forks to line up with the control arms…I envy your build even more.

thanks guys:salute:

LOL, I know that goes all too well. With any luck, I wont ever have to fight a bolt again;)

So I got the battery in it and the brakes bleed last night, alos got the rear tires on.

along with good news, there is always bad. As I was cleaning up my SPC camber kit. I came to find out one is completly fucked. so Ive got my fingers crossed that I dont end up having any caster issues and have to buy a new SPC kit:cross: this thing looks horrible

Since im still waiting on balljoints, I decided to get started on this thing tonight

stay tuned for updates:up:
