So you recommend what parts?
Timing belt, WP, IM gasket (mine’s shot), exhaust gasket (mine’s shot), and valve cover gasket? Then a useful valve lash adjustment and swap?
those are what I would do to start with:up:
Thats right, ill try and remberthat this time. lol I wish someone would open second creek back up. its suck a shame to see it in its current condition. Ill check that link out
So on with the updates…
After my complete disapointment at bandimere, (no need to say the time cause its not worth mentioning :D) I put the teggy up on jack stands to start the brake swap. Got a majority of the fluid out of the system and proceded to start with the hard part of the swap and get the master cylinder and brake booster tackled.
First I started by removing 3 of the 4 motor mount bolts in oder to make a litte more room for me to wiggle out the booster. It is a very tight fit!!!
Strut bar off and Master Cylinder out…
As difficult as I thought it would be, after removing the stearing collum cover and the cotter/clevis from the brake pedal. I had easy accses to the four bolts that hold the booster in. After a little lifting of the motor and a lot of twisting and repositioning of the booster, I finnaly got it out.
The pile of part starting to stack up on my work bench
Im currently trying to get my hands on the tool thats needed to set the proper push rod clearence on the new booster. once I source and take care of that. I can install and bench bleed the master and install the callipers and bleed the whole thing with the new dot 4 fluid.
thanks man, keep your shit tight and come back safe brotha
Thanks Jon, As I was checking those clearences I unfourtunaly ran into some fitment issues with the brake booster I bought. some how the booster apears to be either the incorrect one or was remanufactured incorrectly. The master cylinder sits at angle that make it come into contact with the drivers shock tower. thank fully I notice that before i actually installed it in the car. Ive already been in contact with the seller and he is getting me all squared away. thanks again John:up:
I did get the calipers mounted, still need to connect the brake lines and stick a block of wood in them to bleed them out. Obviusly that wont happen till I get the new booster and M/C in
I would perfer not to say how much cause me and pang have a trade worked out. who doesnt love a clean car the average quote I recieved from 3 different powdercoaters for 2 calipers,2 carrier brackets and 2 control arms was about $100 so I would say around a little less then that.
on to the updates…
over the last week ive manage to button up and get the brakes all finished up. while waiting for the new booster to come in. I decided that I wanted to ease the bleeding process and swap calliper from left to right side. Then I blew what brake fluid that was still in the lines out and finished bolting up the front caliper lines.
got the proper booster delivered saturday morning and promptly procedded to prepit, paint it and get it in
“OUR” master cylinder bench bleeder setup… worked like a charm and simple to make
Got old girl on life support waiting for the brakes to be bleed.
Since I was working on the brakes, I figgured this would be a good time to fix the cover for my 3rd brake light. used a little epoxy to hold the metal tab in place and repainted the window studs
havent installed it yet cause the teggys getting tinted in a couple weeks so I want it off when they do that window.
well now that ive put in all this work. im gonna drive here as much as possible before it snow
Thanks i was just trying to get an estimate on what it should cost and compare with what i was qouted. And yes i loooooove a clean car. They make me smile
Im not to sure about those figgures, i think its safe to say that if you already need spacers with your stock calipers, chances are you need them with the legends too.
 hows that swap going? rabis probly gonna need that picker soon so keep up that hard work
the holiday season is apon us so hopefully i will be able to come up with the funds to make my last major purchases of motor mounts, catch can fittings, hoses and a sheet of aluminum to make the catch can and intercooler endtanks. Ive also been told by MrP. that his estimated time of compleation should be around spring time next year. heres hoping we can make that time frame

Sigh… Not as well as I’d hoped… §Ugh. Still have a lot of work to do. :bang:Could actually use a hand soon to get the final details (bitch pin, cables, ball joints, engine harness, and coolant/vacuum hoses) worked out and engine pulled. After that, it’s a matter of a week or so (keep in mind I work 2 jobs…) to get the other motor in. Or I could always drop it in after timing it and just hook everything back up afterward, if rabi needs that hoist real soon.§
I also will be needing a radiator real soon. Thinking Misimoto…
Calipers look good, nice updates. Still looking for a clean brake fluid reservoir lol
Herb, Ill send you an email later, ive got one im in the process of cleaning up right now. its all yours buddy!
