BLKACK1's Build Thread

Damn your build is so nice! Awesome work!

Did you ever receive that sandwich plate? I never heard back from you.

coming along great!! is that PTP turbo blanket? any modify needed for the hood prop?

Back from the depths of the g2ic backpages and soon to return!!

Thanks for the compliments fellas. More good news and bad news sadly.

The car has been finished for a little more then a month now and as I think ive already said, would not start. now after after taking me a month to figgure out the 3 three things you need for a running motor and finding I had all three threw in the towel and decided to consult the professionals. I Decided that once they figgured it out. have it thrown on the dyno and tuned and enjoy cruising it around for the rest of fall. well ths was the story as of yesterday.

Thursday Afternoon I had a little conversation with one of the mechanics at revolutions. they came to find that my DIY map sensor was the main cause of my start. the problem being the because I had no record of pressure to voltage map and it couldnt be set up properly. on top of this it was found that my injectors were stuck shut. long story behind it but after reading up on it and talking to someone at T1 performance. once the injector pintle was unseated with a ball point pen that they were fine and with out further incident. I agreed that I would let them sell me and install a hondata 3 bar and that I was confident enough with the injectors to proceed with the tune.

All was good I thought and I was getting excited that next saturday I would be watching it on the dyno…

well fast forward to today… I received another phone call and I was informed on this little tid bit of info. My car had been started and was warmed up fine. BUT, that servion was having to add almost %50 more fuel @ idle and would take a little bit to figure out. This however is not the biggest of my problems. I knew I had a very slight main seal leak on the tranny side but was very small and only accumulated to a dime size puddle on my garage floor over three months. He pointed this as well as a second leak coming from the same area that he still had not figured out where it was coming from had developed a 4-6 inch puddle in the time it took to warm up and can NOT put it on the dyno with it leaking that bad. there going to look into it a little more but it looks like at this point I have to rent another trailer and go pick it up to fix the leak. ////end rant…

Thanks for the compliments guys make me want to kick in the fender a little less right now.

Nice addition. How much did this set you back? Any complications with the hood shutting and the struts getting in the way?
because I bought them off ebay, I expected there to be but suprisingly. no I didnt, they bolted right up and work great.

I sure did. Thanks again mang. ive just been stupid busy.

Yes it is and see above, lol

and now Back down to the deep depths of g2ic:gay:

Good luck man! An oil leak is nothing in comparison to all the work you’ve done so far. You should be up and running in no time!

thanks man:up:

Well folk its been a while since my last post. A lot has gone done since I have last posted updates, theres more good and sadly bad news. At least this time its more good than bad. I have had the car back since shortly after my last post and since and Even thought its taken me forever to find some time to work on the car over the last month, Ive managed to find and fix the oil leak(there was 1 of the little spacers that comes molded into the oil pan gasket) and get the car on the road again.
Due to the fact that I have pretty much spent all my tuning money on a new map sensor, diagnostics fee and trailer rental charges. Ive decided to start tuning the car myself! (well a basic tune at least) the map I started with was dumping fuel like it wanted to wash out my rings. Now the car is 4 months expired on tags and wont get them till I can pass emissions… So tuning of the car has consisted of driving the car too and from work on what nice days of fall we have left and other little runs here and there. If I warm the car up prior to leaving, I basically have enough time to do 2 pulls. One 2nd, and one 3rd gear pull. This thankfully has helped me to stay under the radar with the local law enforcement. Ill make the necessary changes at work and when I get home and do it all over the next day. Every day I have been working my way up the map getting A/F ratios in check. Been working on full throttle maps lately and every day I make more and more power :burnout:
The car drives exactly how I planned it out. Boost doesn’t even start coming online till 3k and is in full boost at about 4k and is totally drive able and should hopefully be fairly gas efficient out of boost(this is my next project as I realized the other day that my A/F is at 10.1 under light cruising condition, lol). Its whisper quiet and the only sign of boost is the whistle and BOV (which sounds absolutely beautiful)
There have been some issues along the way, some delt with and some that still need tending too. The major of which being…
The exhaust rubs on the chassis above the pass rear control arm. I was warned by Pang this would most likely need some clearance work(just waiting for first major snow this year as it will require full tear down of the suspension in that corner)
The new Map sensor needs a mounting bracket.
The Collant return line from the turbo to the radiator needs to be redone. Seems as if I didn’t seat it in right and its push out and has a small steam leak. Should be an easy fix…
The bumper needs a little more trimming. And I need to stick some sort of rubber insert between the bumpers support and the intercooler to quit down some rubbing vibrating between the 2.
Lastly, I need to either finish or redo my coolant reservoir. Haven’t decided yet…

Well Blah,Blah,Blah. On with what little pics I have, gonna try and make a video later today

The Oil leak culprit

A good pic I got one morning

I wish I had more to share but no time to take pics lately. maybe some more along with some videos

spent some of my day with old girl to get these

Love the way it turned out man!

thanks man, glad to see theres still some familiar S/N around since Ive been away for so long.

Car looks like a lot of fun, was wondering where you’ve been.

Yeah I still hang around. Moreso out of boredom than anything lol

Your teg sounds fucking awesome! I listened to it again this morning and yep, I’m in love!

Looking good, so if this is almost done what your next project?

Nice Glenn! glad to see it on the road!

at what rpm do you have full boost? and what is your full boost? we both have gt30’s so i’m curious. how you like it so far?

nice vids!
Car looks like a lot of fun, was wondering where you’ve been.
it is growing on me :D. its been 60-70 hr work weeks for me so any free time I have is usually not spent on the interwebz.

 next up on the choping block is to get rid of the 1 tire fire. tranny needs to come out and get a new set of syncros and the Mfactory diff thats just hanging out in my closet with my hord of parts:D
Nice Glenn! glad to see it on the road!
Ted, good to see your still around. when your gonna come down to see it in person, lol

starts to build up around 3300-3400 rpm and at 4000 rpm it is in full song. im running the boost by gear function and due to the fact im tuning it myself. Ive kept the boost levels fairly conservative. starting at 2 lbs and building up too 6 lbs at 7000 rpm. Honestly. I Fucking LOVE it. if I keep under 3000 you wouldnt even beable to tell its boosted. at 3500, the whistle starts to make it very obvius. lol drives great out of boost and when I want it. it builds up very quikly… overall. I couldn’t be any happier with the end results.
nice vids!
thank you kind sir:bow:

:UPDATES: Have yet to put the car on the dyno, but ive got atleast 30-40 hours worth of street tunning and the tune is coming along so well that im thinking about taking it to get an emissions and she how she does…

So far ive manage to get the idle A/F ratios in the low 15’s, light and mid throttle/low load and out of boost A/F ratios around 14.7 and full throttle/high load in boost A/F ratios at 12.5  still some work to put in on the map. a couple of spot left that need some fuel pulled, especialy at 7000 rpm. ratios are still in the mid 11’s. From there, hopefully I have the money to have someone finish the tune or start doing my research on tuning of ignition timing. Wish me luck fellas, Im getting to the point where I really need it :worry:

why does ur traction bar sit SOOOO low??

It doesn’t, he has no lip in that pic.
