My car is bogging when I push the throttle to the floor. It seems like it starts at around 4000 rpms. If I dont floor it it will not bog. I recently put on a new distributor off a wreked car. I think that might be the problem. When it starts bogging, it stays green on the a/f meter and blows out a lil black smoke from running rich. So I dont think its fuel related. If anyone knows what this might be other than the distrubuter please let me know. Also I am using a msd cap and an accel external oil filled coil.

are u using a wideband or one of those autometer a/f guage? can u datalog?
I am using an autometer a/f. I have the ability to datalog but I dont have a lap top.
before my car was tuned i would bog out at about 5500k. When i got tuned it was runnin WAY WAY rich. That could be ur problem
also an A/F gauge is about as accurate as the Zodiac
Ok it seems that my car is creeping to about 10 psi. Thats when it seems to do it. Is it possible its overloading the map sensor, or xenocron put a boost cut at 10 psi? I will be getting a boost controller soon. I’ll be driving another vehicle until i get one. What do you guys think?
i think you should save your money and bring it to the dyno all your problems will be solved
I had the exact same problem with mine. I never figured it out though. It almost feels like a charge pipe pops off and it just completely stops pulling huh? Anway, here are some things I tried. Maybe you’ll have better luck:
Spark plugs and gap
Spark plug wires
Distributer cap, rotor, etc.
Make sure all injectors are functioning properly
Wideband to check your a/f. Could be very rich.
O2 sensor
Map sensor
Those are just a few of the things I checked on mine. HTH

I’m really thinking its either the distributer or the boost creep thats causing my problems. I have accel 8mm plug wires and the spark plugs are under a year old. I’ll get some plugs tommorow. Also there is no dyno close to me. I’m in Columbus, MS. Nothings around here like that.
try clogged injector? It was causing my teg to run bad until I took the time to take them out and clean them. Before I used all sorts of cleaner, but nothing beats actually cleaning them out. Just a suggestion even if that isn’t the problem. throwing any codes? 02 sounds like a good coulprit as well, if it’s not reading right it would cause the car to run rich. Just throwing shit out there for you to ck. good luck
I think the problem is boost creep. I ran it all the way to redline at half throttle, boosting only about 5 psi and it went with no prob. When I floor it, it goes up to or maybe a little more than 10psi.
