So I was driving at night and hit a pot hole on an off ramp hard because I was going like 60mph and now My car doesn’t boost as strong as it used to and my exhaust sounds very weak and I have a loud muffler. When I floor it the pedel is weak and then the boost starts to build. Anything past 3.5k and the car has boost and feels the same but at 2.5k-3k boost is weak. It was running fine until I hit that pot hole. I checked the hoses, piping, and exhaust for any cracks or leaks and couldn’t find anything and everything seem to be tight on all the connections.
I didn’t bottom out the car but it an big pot hole that made my cd player skip for like 20 seconds. Oil Pan is in good shape and the return lines are good no leaks. Wouldn’t the oil pickup have an effect threw all the rpm’s rather than just starting.
This has nothing to do with you hitting the pothole, but check the nuts on the manifold connecting to the head and to the turbo. I used the original nuts on the manifold and they kept backing off and I even lost some. I replaced them with new ones from Honda and the turbo spooled faster and stronger. The same applies for the connection between the manifold and the turbo. Also, have you pressure tested the whole system? Just because you can’t see that there is a leak doesn’t mean there aren’t any. I had a bunch of very bad leaks that I couldn’t see. Again, the car ran a lot better once I fixed them.
Still bogging the tightening the bolts helped a little but I think it is an oil problem when I turn the car on my oil light stays on longer than usual and I changed my oil and it helped build a little more boost I don’t think there is enough oil pressure(still haven’t put in my gauge) but I think it is that or maybe the ring gear for the oil pump is cracked or something because I heard that those go quick on a turboed car.
